typically an ultrasonic atomizer worke by vibrating a piezo ceramic element 2-8 million times a second, basically breaking up the fluid into a super fine mist. no heat required and typically little heat generated. they need to be cleaned often to remove contaminates like mold and bacteria. heat might worl to do this, burning off any contaminates, using heat+ ultrasonic at the same time likely won't be as effective because less fluid will reach the piezo element, it would vaporize before it hits the piezo.

Mist or vapor, same thing. The term mist or fog is used for aerosol that has smaller particle size than vapor so it stays in air for longer before disappearing. Higher frequency generates smaller particles. Average particle size generated by ultrasonic atomizer can be calculated when certain things are known, BTW. Not quite sure how particle size gets determined in normal coil heaters but guessing it has something to do with wire thickness, gap between wires and amount of air passing by. Raising temperature just increases vapor generation I think.

I'm assuming ruyan v8 was used in all of their safety evaluations because a) they imply it in their documents b) they only market v8 big time in USA so they seem to be covering their back. e-liquid being +80% PG should prevent any bacteria growth just as ruyan stated in their cartridge document. IMO, Ruyan is legally obligated to tell what device(s) they used in their tests so all you need is to ask them. I'm sure they show no resistance on this front. It is impossible that their recent documents would cover all their devices. v8 and vegas are still very different creatures.

@SuperSteph:
You need at least 170C to vaporize PG using heat. I don't see why there would be a problem with heating PG to say 100C and then atomizing it with ultrasonics. IMO, the wire in woders pic is too long and thin to be sufficient to vaporize liquid. If one know its resistance and voltage applied, one can calculate how much power it takes. Typical 3.7v li-ion rated atomizer having 3.7 ohm resistance makes it consume somewhere around 2-3 watts when taking voltage drop into account.
