I just use amazon. I got a 100 dollar ultra sonic for 30. They are great. I run a couple of cycles with white vinegar and then empty it and a couple of cycles of distilled water. They then fire like new. As anyone found a better method?
I used the cheapest vodka at the liquor store. Still was alot of money and did not clean them as well. Does the quality of the vodka matter? Afraid that the vodka will start a fire. Anyways vinegar and then distilled water works great.I use Vodka every time. Maybe I'll try vinegar. Have you tried Vodka? Any difference?

Oh...and how do you do a dry burn?
best ce2 cleaning solution for me is a vodka soak/swirl in an erlenmeyer flask, followed by a dry burn and/or blow with the aircan.Has anyone found a solution that will get the gunk off Ce2 coils?
the ultrasonic is supposed to work by creating 'cavitation bubbles'. picture those little Dow scrubbers from their tv ads years ago. but usually you need a cleaning solution and the right frequency for these things to work. my gemoro works well with water, even a small subcontainer of vodka, but i think it wears too hard on the wicks. so i stick with vodka for the ce2 and use the ultrasonic to clean other things. Also, is my ultrasonic not working if I don't see bubbles? I see waves. I got the Trent CD-3800.
Try vinegar then distilled water in the ultra sonic. It works wonders.I used alcohol a couple of times, but had a really hard time getting the residual taste out of the atomizer, so now I am going to cheap vodka and the jewelry cleaner method also - they are supposed to deliver mine on Thursday.
Thanks! Great thread- Just ordered a Sonic Wave CD-2800 from Amazon (free 2-day super shipping!) for $27.88. Btw, the Bogue CD-2800 is the exact same model (confirmed by description and pictures), if anyone was wondering. Both clean at 42khz and have auto cut-off at 3 minutes.
I'm the Atty Killer- can't wait to try this out!!!
