OK guys, this is a weird one but over the past two weeks I have very gradually been reducing my analogue use from 20 per day (without an e-cig) to about 10 (with e-cig) and now down to 2...today's count is at 1...

Simultaneously, I have been having dental problems (unrelated, they started before the e-cig use) and I reckon 2 wisdom teeth coming through, resulting in crowding and bleeding gums...

BUT...

I have also started smelling something funky in my bedroom... occasionally, this smells like gas...as in the gas that powers your gas fire, not the flatulent kind.

I had originally put this down to the dental problems (cue religious dental hygiene and a dentist appointment next week!) but there are now two men outside my house looking for a gas leak! I just had a quick word with them and they're sending a plumber to check inside the house but I wonder if anyone else had smelled strange things like gas when coming off analogues and if their being outside and looking for a leak is just a coincidence and i'm being totally paranoid!

Bleeding gums is coming from your blood flow going back to normal.Smoking makes your gums recede and impedes blood flow to the mouth and other areas of the body and also hinders healing.

Give it a couple of weeks and you'll be fine.

As far as the natural or propane gas smell goes, couldnt tell ya. I would have a repaiman or service tech come by and check it out.We dont you going boom.

I thought this was going to be another thread about smelly flatulence :)

Ditto, ditto, ditto! This world smells bad since I quit smoking!!! I thought I had almost no sense of smell or a weird one because of geneitcs as my grandfather had no sense of smell... he was a pipe smoker though. My first week vaping I swore I smelled gas too when walking through the area where the furnace and hot water heater are. I panicked but no one else could smell it and nothing blew up later. LOL I don't smell it now as I think it was a phase I was passing through. I think the first time we can smell properly it really hits us in the face and then we get used to those smells like everyone else has. As I said, I always had a weird sense of smell... could smell what others couldn't and vice versa.... so its the same thing now until I get used to a new smell and it passes.

Sooooo......I could smell gas...after there was a burst pipe about 5 miles away from the house! I wasn't mad, just getting a genuine sense of smell back! HUZZAH!x
I noticed after I quit smoking some years back briefly experiencing hyper-smell sensitivities for a couple or days or so that were quite real, and also not noticed by others. I chalked it up as yet another reaction coming off tobacco. Maybe an extreme rebound pendulum swing of sorts as part of the withdrawal symptoms.
