I'm about to jump onto the 6v bandwagon. I came across these. I know what your thinking.... unprotected... oooohhhhh scary. I know the dangers and the ins and outs of lithium batteries and I know how to protect myself. I only recommend them if you are aware of the danger, and know how to protect yourself. With the disclaimer in place I must say, I haven't even found too many 3v chargers for $11 let alone ones with 4 1000 mah (SEVERELY over rated I'd presume) batteries. Even if you only use those batts while you wait for some protected to get to you from land of the rising sun, and then throw them in the drawer as backups I think you have made a wise decision.

What can I say, my mother always told me I should share. Enjoy guys!

P.S. The batteries say "17335" From what I understand they are "nominally" the same size as 123a's. There is enough wiggle room in our chucks that even a slight size difference should be fine. I'll post up a review here after they get here from hong kong and let you know for sure.

Check out his other auctions, he has 16340 @ 1000mah also. Also he's for real, check out his feedback numbers.

I know nothing about batteries. I get all my info from the members here, but I noticed this and thought I would point it out.

Your link says the batteries are good for 500 recharges.
Upon recommendation, I bought the Tenergy LifePo batts and they say they are good for 2000 recharges.

The price is double for the set but you get 4xs the amount of recharges...at least if the information is accurate....

That's true, but our attys pull too much amperage for the tenergys. I have no Idea what the max amp draw is for these batteries honestly, but for our applications those recharge cycles are largely useless. The simple explanation is that we are abusing this batteries in a way they were not intended to be used and therefore we are lowering their life cycle either way. That number is used more in a idealistic sense. In other words it is a "best case scenario." Drozd could probably elaberate further. He is our resident battery expert and has a habit of popping up whenever battery threads appear.

So it's kind of like the age old question..."How many licks does it take to get to the center of a *insert brand name here* pop? The world may never know."

LOL!
Ha Ha! Exactly! The straight Li-on batteries usually have a higher Max amp rate than LiFePO batts like the Tenergys do so they wouldn't actually be as abused when used for an e-cig. That's not to say these particular ones do, or if they are even of good quality... but hey the price is right :D The cheapest kit with a charger I have found, be it Li-on or LiFePO, is about 20 bucks or so. The charger itself is worth the 10 bucks IMHO. I have been told that 3v Li-on batteries can be charged on a 3.7v charger because they are really just a 3.7v regulated down to 3v using diodes which is true however I'm not about to try it personally! ;)

They charge fine on the 3.7 charger, I do it all the time when I just use 6V, I usually just stick to 7.4V. I use the same charger for both. As far as the ebay seller, don't give him his feedback until you check them out. If they aren't any good just give him a bad feedback. Simple as that.

Glad to know someone has done it without blowing their house up. I knew that "in theory" it should work, but I'd rather be cautious untill I knew someone who has done it that has all their limbs still attached.... you do have all limbs don't you grabeard?:D As for the batts, I'm honestly not expecting much from them. I doubt highly they are really 1000mah, but I'm not going to piss and moan over them. As far as I see it they are more of a free-bee with the charger.

sigh... no way would I use the batteries...

they're 1000mAh...but unprotected...
the amp draw at 6V of a 510 is 2.61A, a standard carto is 2A, a 801 is 1.71A, 901 is 1.62A, and a 4.5Ω HV is 1.33A...

given no indication of the C rating of these we can assume that they're 1C...

so max drain rate on them is 1000(mAh) * 1 (C rating)/1000 to get a max drain rate of <1A

so you'd be overdischarging stacked unprotected batteries....

EDIT: heres the charger btw: http://www.szwholesale.com/youlai-intelligent-lir123a16340-chargerfcyl132-p-672.html

I still maintain that for 6V the only real good option is the 3V AW 16340 (500mAh) LiFePo4...
you can get them with a charger by ordering them from the AW dealer directly...
or just find a good price on the Ultrafire WF-138 (or wf-138A) charger (not the WF-138B as thats for 10440, and 14500 size)...

alternately EM now has a 3V 16340 LiFePo4 battery that they say is 1000mah...but me personally I just don't trust EM seems a little sketchy to me... YMMV on that one though

Drozd,

Tell me why you don't vote for the Tenergy Batt in 3v the 750 mAh and the 900 mAh, I have been using them both along with the AW, AW being best but I've been using the Tenergy's since they where out and loven those things, I keep them in pairs and mark my bats as follows 1-top 1-Bottom 2-Top 2- Bottom and so on and those Tenergy Batts just keep going on and on and on and are priced better than the AW's but not putting AW down by any means they are fantastic, just want your opinion on the Tenergy please

simply because the max drain rate on the Tenergy is rated at <550ma (.55A)

the amp draw of the atties/cartos depending on the voltage we're using is WAY higher than that....so the tenergy batteries are getting severely overstressed ...which cuts down on the # of times they can be recharged and their capacty as they become more damaged.. and presents an increased possibility for an undesireably catastraphic battery event..

will they work sure....for how well and for how long it's unknown...
I'm shooting for the best and safest batteries where the amp draw does not meet (about 2/3) or exceed the max drain of the battery..

and if it doesn't exceed the max drain rate I can pretty roughly calculate exactly how long that battery is gonna last me

Drozd,

OK that sounds like a good answer but I need a bit more how can we have a undesireably catastraphic battery event as you call it when we are using a protected cell that isnt supposed to happen because the cell is ( protected ) and 2nd can you give me the calculation you use to come up with this answer and are these specs you have on the Tenergy listed on there site next to the Batt they have on the market or on the Batt itself in some way to make the calculatio, and 3rd, Thank you for your help your a gentleman and a scholar thank you again.!!!
