I am thinking about making my own. So I might stock pile up on some also. What type of glass container did you use ?

I went with these. I like the wide mouth because it makes it easier to get in there with a syringe when the level gets low and the short, squat container tends to sit better for me.

And, they had two and four dram dropper bottles that are perfect for mixing trial batches! :p

Only problem with storing nic in the original containers is going to be using it later down the road... unless you are really storing in for long term storage..

So you buy a 1 liter bottle of nic and stick it in the freezer and what every month you pull it out and let it thaw and pull out what you need and put it back in the freezer? Not the best idea..

I use 120ml amber bottles with the poly cone tops... I buy 250ml bottles of nic at 6% or 60ml per 1000. I divide that 250ml into 10 bottles at 12% and then stick them in the freezer.

Each bottle then is about a months supply for be and I just take one out every month.. That way the rest stays fresh and doesn't thaw and refreeze all the time..

I go through about a mg of 100 ml a day. Pull it out once every 6 months to let it pour slowly into a container would be closer to reality...

Thanks for your post.

I have some nic base liquid that is 2 years old, cool dark place stored, not in the freezer and the liquid now has a funky smell and taste. I was hoping to come across a post who could honestly say that keeping in the freezer is working.

Is it like a tobacco type taste? I've heard it can develop like a peppery tobacco twang.

Stored for 2 years in plastic or glass? If in plastic, does the composition of the plastic look altered (cloudy? changed shape?)

Erichill- consider one of these:

I put it on because of my kids, but it will work on other relatives. Lol.

Here's what I do with my nic. I throw it in the freezer in the bottle it came in. When it comes time to crack open a new big bottle I set one out to come to room temperature. Then I divide it up into 60 ml amber glass bottles. I take 1 glass bottle to use for my working stock and put the rest back in the freezer. I go through the glass bottles (allowing to come to room temperature before opening) as I need them and when they are all used up its time to get out a new big bottle and divide that up, reusing the previous glass bottles. This way the nic only goes through 2 freeze/thaw cycles, I don't have a freezer full of glass bottles, and I still have the original bottles with lot number and date information on them. I'm not too worried about plastic leaching into the nic while its at a low temperature. That could change if I learn more, but it's what I'm doing for now.

I've got 10 years worth stored in the freezer in an amber bottle with polycone top.
I sterilized the amber bottle first before transferring everything from the "bottle" that it came in.

But since I only vape around 1ml per day of 12mg/ml liquid, I only have have one 500ml bottle of 100mg/ml in the freezer
It wasn't much of a financial outlay, but I do expect the contents to last for the full 10 years.
:)

So I'm totally new to the Nic Storage deal.
So...if I get nic juice that comes sealed in a glass bottle I can just triple bag it in freezer bags and stick it in the freezer?
The only freezer I have is the kitchen where I keep my food items but I was thinking about putting the nic on the floor of the freezer where I don't put food items.
I would be getting 60 ml bottles...a 60 ml of unflavored nic will last me at least two months since I vape mostly other juices.

Yeah, that would work, though the purpose to buying unflavored is to DIY and make your own juice. The base we buy is way too strong to vape straight.

Oh yes, you guys are doing 100mg nic. I would be getting 50/50 24mg.
I don't know how to DIY...I can barely cook, lol
My only foray into DIY tasted like a lemon candle...wasn't sure if I should try it again, lol

Yes,it's very tobacco type tasting. It's killing my coils though, they clog up in no time.I've decided to move onto a newer batch now,i can't make any decent tasting juice from it.

Glass amber bottles, I moved from plastic years ago after a few different flavours I had seemed to blend and they all had the same smell by the time I got round to them.
