Using alcohol/liquor in DIY liquids possible/safe?

Hey folks, I apologize in advance if this has been discussed elsewhere because I feel it probably has, I did my best to sift through the forum and did some thread searching, but didn't find much of anything.

I know the alcohol in liquor would burn off when vaped, but in the interest of getting the flavor profiles, is this possible/safe to do when making DIY liquids? I've found bourbon and gin extracts, but I was wondering if I could just use the real thing. I was thinking it might be fun to recreate some of my favorite cocktails.

to ecf Redlist. I will give you a little different take on it. I crush up menthol crystals and fill up a 30ml bottle half way. Then I fill the rest of the bottle up with Everclear. This is my menthol base that I add to unflavored nic juice that I make. I have even added it to pre made mixes. I was a menthol smoker and I have been doing this since I began vaping over a year ago. Doesn't hurt to try new things. You never know. That is what is so great about reading this forum. Different opinions, ideas but that is just "gravy". The best thing about ecf are meeting some wonderful people. Good luck to you and happy vaping.

Hi! I actually have done this with the extracts you are supposed to put in vodka to flavour it. It works well for me. I started out with a Kentucky bourbon, a Tia Maria & a kahlua.

My base is 75VG/25PG. Each of the flavourings are PG based. The final mix comes up at 60VG/40PG.

With the bourbon, I also put in Vanilla Extract (alcohol based) and hot water steeped. This is my ADV.

With the two coffee flavours, I had to put in Vanilla and Chocolate (Hangsen 50/50 premixed) and extra VG to make it less bitter. They are very strong, but a good morning vape.

I have also used the premixed Bourbon/vanilla base to make an apple bourbon by adding some TFA green apple. That is also pretty good, but strong. I may have to cut it a bit further with some VG cos the throat hit is a bit nuch for me.

So yes, it can be done, but look at the ingredients in the flavourings. Caramel colour will kill your coils.

Have fun!

Blessings,
Nancy
