I appreciate your work in this. Your pics are great.

I'm balancing what my time is worth and the purchase an ultrasonic cleaner and alcohol/peroxide vs. the few fills gained with a partially renewed carto.

IMHO buying bulk cartos brings the cost down and there's too much gunk left over on the coil to make this worth it.

Ok, results are in. These tests were with a Branson 1510 ultrasonic cleaner, 30 minutes each.

If you really want to see a bad carto wick somewhere in that old thread of the carto autopsy is a macro shot of one, wonder if dry burning would clean that up!
