I got my package in the mail yesterday and the package was ripped open and then re-taped with scotch tape. The bubble wrap package was also torn open. The invoice was still inside.

Of course V4L helped me and took care of the problem on my end, but never the less it still sucks for them.

Anyone ever have an issue like this? I ship items through my work all day long and have never heard of a package getting damaged but the actual item was missing. I have seen damaged goods and lost packages, but not a packaged delivered but empty lol.

We have had it a few times, mainly when shipping to a strange place in some forgotten European contry. One particular one stands out; they had taken all the good parts from the order, quite a big one too. They had left things like eu plugs etc and some other bits. I'm not sure what you can claim in this instance, whos fault it is? The packaged reached its destination but there were parts missing from it. Odd. They ddin't even bother to seal it back it.

Actually - I ordered my very first starter kit last week. First, the USPS re-routed the package to Texas (I live in NC) even though the address was correct on the shipping label from the company. And when I finally did receive it, the package was ripped open. The kit was in there, but the extra blank carts and the juice I ordered were missing.

Cerver, That is theft, no matter how you look at it..taking the time to reseal/tape the package back up??? outragious....I would be flipping...I would go right to the post office & speak to the post master about this, and raise more hell than they would like...I don't care if its one item or 5 boxes...

i hear ya. but the time it would take for me to go there and then they give me the old "it could have been stolen or ripped at another facility, not this one" i have read this comment on other forums.

Well most likely they'll say that but I hope you know that thiefs in the USPS system are usually caught VERY quickly.

The USPS has a website that accepts claims for mail fraud / tampering. Save you a trip, couple clicks and it's reported. What they do with that info after that I don't know.

USPS MAIL FRAUD COMPLAINT PAGE

ty for this, going to fill it out now.

IMO, it may just be my crappy work LCD monitor but the Clicks word in your post looked like Dicks at first lol

Ditto! I ordered a starter kit that shipped Monday and this is what I got from USPS today.

Your item was forwarded to a different address at 8:43 AM on July 21, 2010 in READING, PA 19606. This was because of forwarding instructions or because the address or ZIP Code on the label was incorrect.

Because of this or because of that? Come on, that's just lousy. I'll just hope to receive it tomorrow? I live about 30 miles away from Reading so I don't quite know how that happened as I know the vendor has the address correct on every correspondence. I swear, if you use Priority Service it almost seems guaranteed to get messed up.

yeah i was never a fan of USPS. They always seem to be slow and have issues, just IMO.

Really? Using USPS 1st class, I'm hitting the east coast and Hawaii in 2 days from California, regularly. Maybe your stuff just isn't being sent out when you think it is. Good luck with the claim, but even if nothing is done, someone in charge knows about it.

thanks.

I ship from my work using USPS, UPS and Fed-ex. my UPS packages always get there on time or sooner. i can ship something ground with UPS from here in PA and it reach California in 2-3 days. No lies.

Now USPS, it normally takes 4-5 days and sometimes the packages are either damaged looking or actually broken.

I had mailed someone a 1,200$ insured it before mailing the package ripped in one of the machines they found it and called me within 24 hours to let me know it was found and asked me to fax them a picture of it to be sure it was mine..

also my brother had a part for his work sent to his house to save the trip to the shop then to where the part needed to be put on.. it was a $10,000.00 part so it was suppose to be signed for.. well they just dropped it on his steps and it was opened and stolen before he got home.. there is a new ups guy delivering there now..

I recently had an order that arrived apparently opened and missing a bottle of juice. Admittedly it wasn't well closed and *could* have opened during shipping (it was a flat rate envelope that the glue didn't hold all the way across)

I don't mind suppliers using those bubble envelopes. Actually I appreciate them saving me money on the shipping. I just wish some of them would learn to use a little extra tape along the ends. I've been lucky I've never lost anything, but I've received a few that the glue just didn't hold up at all. One supplier I try not to order from anymore and this is one of the reasons.

this is exactly how i package my disks for my customers. Bubble Envels with a tapped edge and staples in each corner.
