That's unfortunate that you are having issues

My second crown showed up yesterday and I primed the coil, cleaned the tank with dish soap, threw the mod in SS temp control at 400℉ for break in and went on my way and put 5 tanks of juice through it alone yesterday with no issues. There was about a 1ml break in and it was good.

Between my buddies they own a total of about 6 crowns and none have had issues and my two crowns also with no issues

Google Uwell Crown tastes like crap. I am far from the only one having this issue. Guys at the vape shop thought I was more sensitive to nickle and SS and that is why it tastes like crap to me but I have used both in my own builds and it never tasted like this. Maybe it is the specific wire they use. Now that I have 2 full tanks through a single coil the terrible flavor is gone but that is entirely too long to "break in" a coil and vaping through it is painful. I will keep the tank just use the rba.

I know a bad batch of coils got sent out at some point, but out of our 8+ crowns we've never had more than 1/3 of a tank of juice break in period so I can't explain what's being done differently between us and those with problems

I agree with several of the prior postings about taste... being a former 35 year pack a day smoker.. my taster is still recovering... I cannot taste strawberry based vapes to save my bum and I love strawberry... but anyways... I ordered the RBA unit looks just like the coils that come with it... I used the already installed coil... did an S wrap of some cotton bacon as was previously described... and WOW.. this tank is NOW my total favorite tank. The RBA did it for me.. so maybe I had some bad coils.. not sure... but I could also get a slight machine oil taste.. my dad was a tool and die maker.. so I am also familiar with the light machine oil... and while the coils produced clouds.. I also could not get any flavor... it was like just a sweet cloud all the time... but now with this RBA in there... SHHHAAAAAZZZZAMMMM this Crown is the CROWN of my collection... it even puts out better flavor then my Sapor RDA which is saying a lot. Also I have had zero leak issues since I used the S shaped wrap of the cotton bacon... that I wicked it with. I usually use 70VG30PG based juices and at 25 to 30 watts this thing is in the groove on any juice I put in it.
Happy Vaping

I couldn't agree more. Kind of my exact experience with the Crown. I've two of them and wouldn't be happy with any other tank on my devices.

Freemax is great too. I use both the Freemax Starre Pro and Crown in my daily rotation. If it weren't for the crappy fill design, I might rate it higher than the Crown. I am using the Ni coils now on a Snow Wolf 75W and will say they are the best Ni coils I have every tried (better than the Crown Ni coils IMO).

Re: Crown 0.25ohm coils....

I am not a fanboy of any vaping product, but after buying/using Kanger prebuilt coils and RBAs, 5 different Aspire prebuilts, 2 different Tobeco coils for Super Tanks and 0.25, 0.5 and the RBA for Uwell Crowns.... I gotta say that the 0.25ohm prebuilt coil in a Crown is by far the best coil I have tried.

Amazing how after nearly 50ml of juice, the 0.25 coil hasn't spat once and is by far the smoothest vape I have ever tried.

Am I just lucky that I got a good batch? Honestly, the difference between the Crown 0.25 and every other coil I have used (including the Crown RBA) is just incredible.

Same here not a bad one yet, I would like to see a pole of satisfied/unsatisfied as IMO some people don't use the wattage ratings recommended by Uwell by simply not reading the leaflet provided in the kit.

True.

I usually vape at 30-40w with most other subohm coils but with the Crown 0.25, I am 70-80w. That coil is useless under 50w IME.

I haven't had a problem with any Crown coils. They last forever....after a couple weeks I toss them for a little better flavor.

Additionally, have used the same coil for more than a month, have never had one fail (yet). I bought all the coils when the tank first came out, Vaporider had a sale, so I bought several boxes of each ohm. Seem to prefer the .25 and .50 the most.

Funny. I changed the juice in my tank I last night and switched coils (after 2 weeks). I was about to throw the old one but I looked at it and put it aside for later. Only $3-4, but these seem to last MUCH longer than my Aspire and Kanger coils.

I prefer the 0.25 coils but damn they suck juice!

I have had only good experience with the prebuilt .25 coils. I'll keep the RBA section because I paid for it.
I have 2 RBAs and am using one of them in my 2nd crown. My builds are not nearly as good as what is in the 0.25 coils. Still an easy deck to build on even though it is tiny.

I like how Crown, Kanger and some others preinstall a coil in the RBA. Add a bit of cotton and you are vaping in a couple of minutes.

Well Just yet another update on my Crown and the RBA unit... I started to have some Dry Hit issues... I was running the stock open coil build that came with it.. wicked with Cotton Bacon. I noticed that at around 30 watts and doing a 3 to 4 second pull.. right at the end.. bam.. dry hit started. Also.. if I didn't let it rest a bit... got a dry hit after about 2 seconds. So... I pulled it apart... removed the stock open coil build that came with it... grabbed my .22 ga Kanthol.. my 3mm jig and did a almost 7 wrap of the 22 ga. It was more like 6 1/2 as I wanted both leads to be on top with the coil underneath the leads. It was a bit of challenge as 22 is pretty stiff.. but I took my time.. and got it under those little screws.. centered it.. so it top round of the coil was level with the leads and top of the deck slots.. tightened it down... Took a fresh amount of Cotton Bacon.. about a 1/4 inch roll and then trimmed it to do the S wrap... I tucked the ends of what would be the S a little into each side post... made sure nothing was sticking out by the black O-ring.. slide the top cover back on.. gave it a little turn to line up the slots in the the direction of the S wrap... wet it down with some juice... and put it back in the tank. I forgot to mention the Dry Burn I did first to get any oil stuff off the coil.. and this wrap came in at .42 of an ohm. This jacked up the flavor and vapor of the Crown beyond what I was expecting... WOW.. I have had this up to 40 watts I find the sweet spot right around 28 to 30.. but NO dry hits a all ... you can darn near chain vape this.. and it just WORKS.. nice little bubbles coming up... no leaking what so ever.. I even let it sit over night in a holder with the air slots open and not a drop of juice... I am so impressed.. so this worked well for me and just wanted to share it.
Happy Vaping
Cheers

I love my Crown tanks, use them in my daily rotation. But, I have to say that I have a new tank that may just displace it as my top sub-ohm tank. That's the Stentorian tank by Steam Engine (WOTFO). The tank is a BEAST!! About 6ml tank capacity but actually shorter in total length due to a shorter drip trip. I have been vaping this thing all day and I have to say the flavor is so far better than anything I have tried, including the Crown, Starre Pro, Herakles Plus, and SMOK TCT. From the Forums here, it's not really getting a lot of press. But, I would definitely recommend it for folks that like the Crown. Price is reasonable - I think I picked mine up for something like $30. Now, I'm not going to put my Crowns on the shelf because they definitely are GREAT tanks, but this Stentorian has really surprised me.
