I heard something's a while ago about some bad Crown coils being sold online. Seems like they were coming off EBay though. The nickel is very nice, it's a mellow but tasty vape. I didn't care for the 1.2's myself but that's just me. The .25 is my favorite and I like them about 90 watts. I did try it at 120 but it was wayyy too hot. Drip tip burnt my lips....

I bought a handful off EBay and haven't had any issues with them. Could someone really "clone" Crown coils??

Just got mine today, hopefully an upgrade to my STM. Unit came with the normal three coils and I also ordered a pack of the nickel coils

Started with the nickel coil on my IPV D2. Still trying to get the right settings but wow this thing can drink juice!

I did have an issue with it leaking after filling the first time, but it's been fine since. May be left the airflow open?

Can't really comment on the flavour yet as I'm suffering a bit with a cold and all my juices are tasting crap.

I would be interested to know what TC others are using with the nickel coils?

No issues with Ebay, all Crown I have (tanks and coils) came from there from the beginning.

The .25 is where it is at, I would like to see a Ti coil come out. Deep down, even though I love that my TFV4 can hold more power this tank still may have better flavor than even the quad coils from SMOK and is a quicker less messy top fill. The tanks is just a beast. I hope Uwell stays close to this design for the next tank. Just supersize it and don't re-design the wheel because it works!

Ordered another Crown yesterday, along with the .25 coils, although I like the .5's too.

Hope they do come out with a V2 with a bigger tank.....

I swear this tank has about the same flavor or better than every dripper I own.......lots of um....

Me also, from Ebay. The ones that come with 3 .25's are the deal and they are getting hard to find now. They could come out with something like Arctic did, which was a longer glass and top section. Man that would be sick.

My only complaint with this tank is it sometimes can be hard to screw off. Because the bottom of the tank has a smaller dimension than the airflow ring, it can be tough to unscrew...especially with the airflow ring not locking when you turn it. Not a big deal, still my favorite tank.

I am loving mine so far. He is a thirsty guy though. This is definitely the best tank I have had.

One thing I've noticed is the that the tank gets very hot compared to my subtank. Almost too hot to hold.

Also struggling to get the tank to work properly in TC mode. Using the IPV D2, set at 430F, 50J with the resistance locked at .15ohms it doesn't get up to the target temperature.

I tested this by firing without vaping and the resistance controlled at .35 ohms. But when I vape it only reaches .33 ohms. Increasing the temperature setting makes no difference as its already on max joules setting. I'm getting a very cool vape at these settings, with no flavour, even though the tank itself is hot!

By comparison the subtank hits the target temperature almost immediately at 440F and 35J and works very well.

Do you think I have a dodgy tank or is the IPV D2 underpowered for this tank?

Mine doesn't get hot. But I haven't used the Ni coils yet. The. 5 and. 25 work great on the D2 for me.

I have only used the .5 and run it between 45 and 50 watts. It doesn't get hot. I am using on the ipv3 li.

At the moment I just feel that yet again I've been suckered into buying something based on Internet reviews. I've not seen any negative reviews in the Ni coils, so can't see why they aren't working for me.

Mine gets pretty hot with the 0.25 coil and Ni coil. Haven't tried the 0.5 yet.

Come to think about it, mine did get hot when I first put the coil in and it wasn't primed all the way. I got a little to anxious. This coil did take awhile to fully prime. What also helped was following the break in steps that was posted earlier about stepping up the watts.

I only use the .25 (SS) but if anything carries over from SS to the Ni coils then comparatively my Crown tank does not do all that well on y Sig 75 (again SS) and seems barely enough power. I found a middle ground using an eleaf istick 100 as a beater travel mod but I keep it at 95 watts so I can keep the Sig 150 at home.

Something fair to say is most of the people raving on this tank are using .25 regular coils and are running it at 85-95 watts (or more). I have not seen rave reviews of the RBA, Ni Coil or the .5 coil. I'm not saying I have seen tons of bad ones but just not as much in general. Just like the TFV4, same deal. The most positive reviews are from the .15 Quad coil @ 85-100 watts. Very specific set up.

Regarding TC

I've not been blown away with the Ni coils in my Arctic tank and prefer to use the .3 ohm Kanthal with my Sig 75. I can imaging in your shoes trying to use Crown Ni would be just as "blah" or worse on a D2. What is "hot" is hard to judge but all my later tech tanks are warmer than my old Subtank Plus's. The coils were so much smaller in the Kanger the energy/heat would be less I'd imagine.

Deep down I really feel the coils & wicking are getting so good on these newest tanks that a "dry hit" should be almost non existent which was the main driver for "TC" cray-z. But that is just personal opinion.

Tend to agree. I would say the . 5 are ok but not great. But the. 25 are amazing even at 60w. I do swap between it and the Starre Pro as I still like that one with Ni coils

That's a matter of personal preference. I find the .25 just OK, and love the .5 @ 50w.

Crown coils, .25 and .5 are stainless steel, not kanthal.
