I know how to prime and break it in slow. I am on my second tank before i even get to 45w with the .5ohm coil. The last pack of coils i had are TRASH. It does not wick (unless you poke holes in it, and i dont feel like i should have to do that). No wicking = Dry hit Dont feel like you are the only one having problems with these. Bty they were great. Been running this tank for months with no problems but the carts now are s%@#@.

Alright, I spoke directly with UWell, in Los Angeles, and they told me that they HAVE been having issues with a batch of bad coils. They are aware of the matter, and have taken steps to rectify the matter. They were very easy to contact, and eager to help!

Great company, great tank!

I think there may be some confusion between burned and a dry hit perhaps.

Mine will be beautiful, but when it's finished (after 3-4 days) it actually tastes like charred juice - not a dry hit, but burned. What seems to have happened by then is that the coils are totally gunked up, and the cotton is just sort of used up. My juice isn't particularly sweet (I DIY with low flavorings around 8% total and no sweetener). It doesn't other me as I said, since I put about 30mls/day through these coils. Throughout this there is never any problem with the vacuum, and there are lots of bubbles. But I do get the tank so hot sometimes I can't refill without waiting till it cools down to take the top off.

What happens with the bad ones i have had is there are no bubbles. So its not wicking, so it is very burnt and dry.

I haven't been around the forums in a while. Joined the Crown club about a week ago. It's a pleasure to be here. Just been reading through most of this thread. Very entertaining and informative. No issues at all so far. Just ordered my 2nd tank (liked the first one so much - I decided to commit to it). Just wanted to check-in and say 'Hey!' :) -Rob

This has happened to me a few times so far, when using the rba head, after leaving the tank sit, while filled with juice, it will suddenly just burn when hitting the button. The wick is wet, filled in the coil, but it burns its like all wire, no juice.... unscrewing the rba head and replacing fixes it. Just me?

Question, before I sung the praises of the 0.5 coil on my Kanger subox but for the past half a week the flavor has been extremely muted. I see plenty of people saying they run the .5 at 40-50watts which would lead me to believe I would be fine but I literally am getting little to no flavor. Would the general consensus be that I am under driving the coil and upping the wattage would fix the issue? I am waiting on my new mod so cant drive it higher than 50 for the time being. Dont want to throw away the coil as it has little use on it as opposed to just putting it aside for the time being.

Following the youtube video. I spent about 5 - 10 minutes just saturating the cotton and then let it sit over night. The next morning took probably about an hour to work my way up to 50 watts, gradually increasing. Juice is Vape Wild 65/35 but I have tried others as well with little to no flavor. Flavor was their initially and just disappeared. I will get a new coil and see if that may be the culprit. Didnt want to throw away a coil when it may be my mod being the problem but also dont want to just sit around with the tank collecting dust until I get a new mod either.

lmao... Glad someone else did it before me... I would have totally thought this was a scam with the gmail.com email address.
When you send money with paypal you can click on the link of where you sent and it goes to uwell site. Not getting tracking info is what scared me . Glad they are making things right. Running the ni coil i have had for a while and they are working great. When this tank is working like it should its great!!! btw i dont use this at the house but for on the go its great, not sure i trust my rdta in my pocket.

Finally after 5 weeks I changed to a new 0.5 coil, I tried a different method to prep the coil.
Half filled the condom (cover) with juice inserted coil head slowly until .5 mm from bottom and left for a few hours to soak, after installing waited 10-15 min then vaped at my normal setting got the usual new cotton taste for half a tank then all was normal again.
I guess this way the juice really soaked in through the centre of the coil, easy way for me with shaking hands with no mess BTW half full is .5ml.

I was thinking that they got me for $6 cause there was no tracking on anything but my carts came in today. So everyone this does work and is not a scam. I use .5 and should have asked for it but they sent .25. All is good. I am running a ni atm but when i use the new ones they sent will tell you all how she blows!!!!!!
I definitely got a batch of bad coils.
Did you send an an even $6 under G&S or did you add Paypal fees?

All over the place
The second I get a toasty hit, I back off the wattage by about 20 watts (or more) and take really quick pulls--but not too many in a row. And then I'll leave the tank alone for a little while and let it marinate, so to speak. LOL. It's worked for me. I basically re break-in the coils and doing so has kept it so that my coils just fade away rather than completely going kaput. Now, I will say that it took me a couple coils early on to realize that trying to 'power' my way through a bad taste was the wrong move. I don't know if this is what others have done, but I am sure there'll be a lurker at some point that may benefit from this.

Yep, if I get even a hint of bad taste I back off the watts a little, she good for another 10++ tanks full.

I still haven't completely burnt the cotton or a coil, after a couple weeks I been just tossing the coils out for better flavor.

That was a hell of a deal for coils @ less than seven bucks a box from Code-3-Vapor. Probably have enough coils to last a year or longer.
