Uwell Rafale Coils burning out after a couple of days!!

Recently purchased a Uwell Rafale which went wrong and kept leaking. Got that sorted. But have had issues with the coils. I first used the 0.2 coil and 0.5 coil which came with the tank and they burnt out over 2-3 days. Primed them and didn't go over the recommended wattage.

I then bought some legit 0.2 coils. Put a new one in yesterday. Primed it and haven't been over 90w and I'm starting to already get a hint of bunt flavour. I'm using 80vg 20pg juice.

Love the tank but can't spend that amount on coils.

Your VG is too high. High VG doesn't wick as well as PG and burns out coils faster. Also you have to break in your coils. You need to slowly work your way up to 90w.

If that's typical the user is defiantly doing something wrong. I get an average of 3 months out of my Uwell coils.

I have my u well crowns. A bunch of them and I love them. I get around 2 weeks on the coils before tasting burnt and ick. But they turn dark black within 5 days. Intuitively I think they're ruined and want to replace them right away but its not like I'm getting dry hits or a burnt taste. What is your experience with vaping a black coil? Thx.

I haven't tried Uwell products but have tried a whole bunch of others (part of experiment of how to get my wife to switch to vape, took me about 2.5 years to finally get her on my side lol) and on none of those i have tried, i couldn't get the coils to last more then 10-12 days.
She vapes at lower power and higher nicotine, and she gets 2 weeks at most. But yeah, if you burn them after 3 days, something is wrong. Try to go slowly with power, on a first day of fresh coil go really low like 30-40 watts and next day increase for 10-15W. 90W is a lot of power for those premade coils since they are all made similar way, using way too much cotton from what i would put into them. It takes some time for all that cotton to get properly saturated, and especially if you are using high VG juice, which you do.

I use a alcohol based juice and it keeps my coils clean, so I don't experience black coils. I use the coils until they get weak and start spiting juice into my mouth.

Don't own a Rafale but the Uwell Crown coils 0.25 last me 3-4 days. Seems pretty typical. I do run a high VG juice all the time.

Some tanks handle high VG better than others but Uwell isn't one them. To make your coils last longer you shouldn't use more than 50% VG.

I've tried 10 coils and they all burned up after a day or two (Rafale). I vape .50 coils 100%VG at 25-35 Watts. I am allergic to PG so I can't vape it. Other coils I use never burn out this fast even with 100% VG including the Uwell II and original Uwell. I also heard they put out a bad batch of coils and wrote to them several times with NO reply back. VG is thicker and does burn out coils faster but 1-2 days is not typical for most coils. I prime very carefully and then allow tank to sit for at least an hour or more. Start with low wattage, short hits with a new coil even after priming and slowly work up from 20 watts to 25-35.

Rafale is a crappy tank.. it is flawed.. try a uwell crown against the rafale and you will see the difference. I have three crowns and I tried the Rafale and it is NOT an upgrade.. crappy tank.

I have the Crown v1 and v2 and thing they're excellent tanks. Coils last an average of 3 months for me.

Wow, I've never had a coil last longer than a week or so. I use 100% VG though. I am very careful with priming the coils and letting them sit for over an hour if not longer.

Three months out of a premade coil is outstanding especially with 100% VG. Are you vaping unflavored ejuice?

I use a 60%PG / 40%VG alcohol based juice with no artificial sweeteners. Thick juice and artificial sweeteners is what kills coils.

You could try adding a few drops of distilled water or alcohol to your juice to make your coils last longer.

@Hyperspace - thanks for the info on your PG/VG alcohol based juice. I stay away from ejuices made with artificial sweeteners. Hard though to stay away from 70% VG as more and more vendors are going with higher VG and I do not DiY.
