I'm trying to decide on the V3 and just have a few questions.

1) I'd like to use the 17650 batteries. How do these compare in power to 14500's or 18650's?

2)
Can I use my TrustFire multifunctional charger for the 17650 batts?

3)
Does the V3 have vent holes?

4)
Are these RCR123a Lith-Ion LifePo4 batteries the safest?

5) How long is the body of the V3 in inches?

I can answer the first three quesitons for you.

1. AW 17670 batts last me more than a whole day. You get between 1-1.5 hrs for every 100 mah and the battery is rated 1600 mah. I get between 18-20 hrs of pretty heavy vaping using LR atties. It's way better than 14500 batt but not as great as AW18650 rated at 2600 mah.

2. I use my TR-001 charger with these batts and it works great. They charge to 4.17-4.19V

3. The V3 has vent holes definitely

Btw, it looks awesome in Media Blasted finish and it performs great, no problems at all for me.

Let's see what I can add:

1. To clarify, the V3 will accept 17670 batteries, not 17650s as mentioned in the original post. And I don't think it's just any 17670; I know the AWs work, and those are the ones Pure Smoker sells on their site.

4. I'm no battery expert, but I have read nothing but good things about the LifePo4s. I've been using them for almost a year in my various Prodigies (V1, V2, and now V3) with no issues.

5. The length of the V3 body from tip of adapter (510) to bottom button is 4 inches. Note that does not include the atomizer or cart/drip tip.

Edit: I also wanted to add that I really don't think you'll go wrong with the V3. I have had mine for a month and have been using it pretty much non-stop. Well... except to sleep and shower, that is. It's rock solid, is super easy to maintain, and is versatile. With just a change of batteries, you can switch from 6v to 3.7v. And it's absolutely beautiful to boot! :)

it has vent holes?
what is that...the space on the bottom button maybe?

Also do the 17670 aw protected fit well?
do you have to take the battery sticker off?

also do you have to switch to a copper washer like the v2?

Vent holes: It has two vent holes in the metal part that threads into the tube. You can see them (if you look at an angle) when the device is fully unlocked and, of course, when you take the switch/button out to clean it.

17670 batteries: The device seems like it was made for the protected AW 17670 batteries; they fit perfectly. I have four of these batteries and did not have to take the sticker off for any of them.

Changing voltage: All you do is swap out the batteries to change your voltage. There are no washers or other parts of the device itself to switch out.

I have attached two photos. One shows the V3 in the Media finish and the other shows the full PS line-up, including the V3 in the Satin finish.

In this thread yesterday, I described the differences in the spring options. And other members have weighed in on their opinions of the V3 as well.

The only other thing I can think of right now is:

If you want strictly a 3.7v device, PS is about to release the smaller brother of the V3. It's called the Icon and will use 14500 batteries. You can see it in the attached photo of the full PS Line-Up. But If you want one device that can do both 3.7 and 6v, then the V3 is without a question the device you want.

The delrin piece is a part of the button/switch. I've attached a photo from the following V3 maintenance thread Steve put together on Pure Smoker's forum.

Prodigy V3 Switch Maintenance & Cleaning Guide

Besides that one part, the rest is stainless. And you don't see the delrin unless you take the switch out to clean it.

I like the media finish too and wish I had chosen that option. Outside of some photos that users have posted on Pure Smoker's forum, I don't think there are any 'official' pics of it. GrimmGreen, in his video review, has one in the media finish. And it looks great.

You can find his -- and other -- video reviews in this thread:

Prodigy V3 Reviews!

GregH, thanks for all that info and the pictures! I wonder why PS doesn't put pictures of these on their site so we can better choose what we'd like. Anyhoo, thanks again! :)

Glad to help! :) Casey has said that they are going to rework their site soon, and Steve mentioned having more photos. But I imagine they've just been so busy lately launching their Tonic juice line that they haven't had a chance yet.

no problem. :)

I do need to add one thing, though. I decided today to try the light spring since I never even gave it a test drive.

So I put it in and was amazed at how it took zero effort to activate. I thought I could really like this if I could only stand it on its end unlocked and it weren't quite so sensitive. So I took it out and pulled the ends to stretch it to about twice its original size and tried it again. And wow! Still super easy to activate but I can stand it on its end unlocked. I'm still glad I have both springs; I'm all about options and backups. But I'm gonna use this configuration for a while. :)

Edit: I didn't mean to imply that stretching the light spring was my original idea. Because it's not. It's just that I decided to take others' advice and try it myself today.

Yeah, I think stretching the spring is a good idea. Also, in my Super-T SIX which rattles just a bit with the 14500 batteries, I just put one layer of electrical tape around the battery (see Edit below) and that solves the rattling problem because making the battery just a little fatter makes it hug the inside of the Six better. Keep those tips coming! :)

Edit: When I say I put 'one layer' of electrical tape around the battery, I mean just one loop of tape around it, I don't cover the whole battery with it. Just wrap the tape once around the mid section of the battery. That's sufficient.

You're welcome. :)

Say, c
an I use my TrustFire multifunctional charger for the 17650 batts? It says it will charge those batts but I got AW batteries for the V3 and I'm not sure if it'll charge them too. If I can't, I need to get a new charger....again.

If it's the TR-001 or the WF-139 you can. I have both of those and they charge everything :w00t:
I have to use an aluminum spacer with the 16340's but it's a no brainer.
