All these birdies!! I had no idea there were so many in the "family" . . .

I love birds, but back when I had my health I traveled so much, and it's my understanding that birds desperately need near-constant companionship with their "flock" . . . Besides, there was always the cats to worry about . . . (yes, I grew up watching Sylvester devise ingenious plots to get and eat poor little Tweety-Bird! )

hehe I never had a problem with my two parakeets (named sylvester and tweety hehe) and my old cat meow meow (I was really little when I asked her what her name should be...)

Ive always thought about getting an african grey... but thats a huge commitment.

Aw, I just love African Greys!! But you're right Clover, they're expensive, high-maintenance, and would certainly out-live ME at this point!

Thanks to the suggestions of this forum, I pre-ordered Skyrim as an anniversary present for my DH We picked up the copy today and he loves it Heck, I'm enjoying it too

OH yeah knew there was something I forgot to mention earlier this week. The new york times artical about ecigs got discussed on Ron and Fez, so not only did ecigs get good publicity from a major newspaper, but also on a top show on XM radio by one of the most respected broadcasters in radio.

Jeffie had his wings clipped this week so he's been depressed and quiet and just snuggly and a little irritable. I feel bad for him. It's like his best friend is gone.

Hee hee. No, I'm at a phase in life wherein I'm just waiting for my last fur-baby to pass, before making a huge upheaval (as in cross-continental move) in my life.

I also do seriously need to consider the maintenance-level of any new pets from here on out. I'm pretty sure ONE cat is about all I'll be able to take care of properly from now on.

I'll just enjoy beautiful birds and doggies vicariously!

Where are you going Eleanor ? Do you know yet ? We dont know when /where but will eventually be leaving cali .
I have one cat and one canary and from here on out it will be 1 or 2 cats at a time .Don't get me wrong and i have loved this bird and all the joy hes brought but even a canary is work .I was reading up on some birds and it is stunning how much you have to know and watch for .@clover an african or any of those would be a dream but as big a commitment as a child timewise and they dont like to be left alone all day .I would have loved one or a white cockatoo but ...never the finances( avian vets ) and room or time and research .If anyone tells you a canary is a short life bird of 5 -7 years don't believe em .This one was so healthy and has been so taken care of and hes ten .But feet are bad .It is only that he is not suffering and still enjoys life that i dont feel too bad ,he has adapted .The feet went bad about 1 year ago. I've had my bird experience but am much more comfortable with cats ,because i know what to watch for .

Yep, coffee is awesome... So I just baked a cake, well mixed it all up and whatnot, it's in the oven now. I was supposed to bake this cake last night to take to my parent's house today for random Sunday dinner, but instead it'll be a 3am cake This was my first time attempting to use pork rind flour, hopefully it'll turn out okay.
