I totally forgot to let everyone know that punching cartos is pretty darn easy. Ray's punch does the job well, and I can even manage doing it by hand, without a screwdriver or wrench. Anyone holding off on punching their own cartos hold off no more - If Vince can do it so can you.

Heh! I got the punch on the way as well :p I got some coop cartos, but I am spoiled by Ray's punched cartos, so I'll be ready to punch if the draw on the new cartos isn't what I'm used to.

Plus I do what I can to get Ray off of the 'Carto Punching Bench' and on the 'tank Building Bench' :p

I mixed 50% deejStuff Apocalyptic Cinnamon Blast with 50% Vapor Room Green Apple and added a 2 drops of LorAnn Anise flavoring... all I am gonna say is

om-nom-nom-nom-cat-bites-dog.jpg

And then I found that I'd MELTED THE DRIP TIP in a Karger T5 carto! The drip tip... melted... I could barely get it outta the carto... Once I got it out, I threw it away and let the carto rest for a bit :p

How did u melt it?

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2

Heavy vaping? Dunno how else... carto gets hot from my vaping so I trade it for another and rotate them. One I could not unscrew to add juice, when I pulled it hard and got it out, I found the black drip tip is melted

The cinnamon will melt most drip tips. I would guess at some point the tip came in contact with the juice.
Only metal and Delrin can withstand the "tank cracker" flavorings.

I have considered getting drip tips custom made from polypropylene, but I think it would be cost prohibitive for me to get a mold made and then meet MOQ's.

That was the first thing I noticed when I started using cinnamon. The tips went first, since they are in constant contact with the juice. I use stainless steel and glass drip tips; ceramic works too.

That is good to know - I only knew about certain plastic clearomizers & tanks cracking when using Cinnamon, Citus, and Menthols - NOT DRIP TIPS . . . Thanks - :thumb:

The black drip tips that come with just about everything are polycarbonate. The liquids melt acrylic and Delrin too (I was told it didn't melt Delrin, but I did some research and it does). I was also bummed out to discover "Tru Stone" probably isn't safe. I was looking at some beautiful tips, but with some digging I found that "Tru Stone" is crushed stone mixed with a acrylic resin. It might be okay, but with the cost of those tips I don't want to risk it; Plus, it has crossed my mind that vaping something while it is degrading is probably not a good plan.

Are you sure about the Delrin?
I know many places on the international webistes say the drip tips are Delrin, but in reality they're just acrylic. I was under the impression true Delrin is okay.

Zapped told me it was fine, but then I read somewhere that it isn't. I'll have to see if I can find it.

If you do a Google search on Delrin + cinnamon, you get several results that contradict each other - mostly on vaping threads. I think this might be what I was basing my opinion on: Delrin Chemical Resistance Chart http://www.OMSdive.com Not all cinnamon e-liquid flavors use cinnamon oil, but some do - many of Lorann cinnamons are oil based.

ETA: I could be completely wrong, but I melted so much of my gear in the past I'm a bit hesitant to use anything I'm not 100% sure about.

Actually, Lorann's "Oil" flavorings aren't really named well. Here's a clip from their website:

"A Little Goes a Long Way with LorAnn's Super Strength Flavors! Our super strength flavors, also known as candy oils or candy flavors, are not oil-based and contain no vegetable oil. The term "candy oil" refers to a type of flavor that is concentrated and undiluted. These flavors are 3 to 4 times stronger than grocery store extracts. When substituting for extracts, use 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon for 1 teaspoon of extract. 1 dram = 1 teaspoon (approx.) "

So I've always been very confused about their flavorings. I actually have no clue if their "cinnamon oil flavoring" is the same thing as cinnamon oil.

I still wish you'd sell pyrex drip tips, though I imagine they're a pain to acquire.

I really have no clue, I just want to make sure stuff doesn't melt. ;)
