I gave up on cleaning them, I was using PGA (Everclear Vodka) and decided I was spending more on vodka than I was on cartomizers. LOL
I got very mixed results, it only seemed to work sometimes so now I just toss them.

I used to try to clean my cartos, too, with mixed results... I have found though that one way to help them last longer is to gently put a straightened paper clip in through the air hole. It will often come out with gunk on it. Wipe that off with a paper towel and repeat until it is pretty clean... I have ruined a few cartos this way though, so be careful. I may have damaged the coil when I did it. But, if you are going to be throwing it into the trash anyway, you don't have anything to lose!

5-- Toss em!! Buy more from Ray or buy em in a co-op.. There's no point in wasting good juice in a crappy carto..

CHAT - I am a noob, so I don't know much BUT I have been soaking everything except the battery in vinegar, then rinsing in water, then a 91% alcohol rinse on the cartos, and in front of an air unit to dry. Once vinegar changes color from gunk, I throw away. I laughed at Ray's spending more on booze than the carto because I was thinking the same when I read the different opinions about cleaning the different gear we have.

Tiramasu - tastes like... coffee and burned popcorn in the same carto

Agreed! I get a nice piece of tiramisu every couple weeks from this awesome home made italian deli..

Uncle, I think I know of who you speak...have been visiting alot of threads. I tend to be more of a "lurker and liker" and less of a "chatty one".

Ah - Then "You" saw "The Uncle" . . .

AS - For "Lurking" & "Like" . . . I hear Ya' - For "Me" it all just depends on the thread, there are even many I just "Lurk" and never "Like" because of the people (who I truely "dislike" but I cannot really tell off as I would "like" too given ECF ) that participate on those threads and then there are other threads that are "Home" bases that I really enjoy having conversations with the people there . . . "LIKE" Here and at the VVV Chit Chat thread . . .
(AND - No - I am not trying to suck-up to any of "YOU", because I do think there are a great group of people that "RayN" has gathered here . . . )

First Question - NO . . . 2nd Question - Like Tiramisu - Without a doubt, YES - The Real Stuff . . . One of the best deserts around if it is made correctly . . .

I need an opinion on Ray's Boge 510D carto, or any carto really. Is it worthwhile to try to clean the carto once it has stopped working? Does cleaning work or is it just more trouble than it is worth?

I don't know about the Boge's, since I haven't used any enough that need to be clean yet . . . However, I will say that I have cleaned "My" other Carto's/Testing Atties by letting them soak View attachment 164363 for a while and then using just the Sonic cleaner (that I got on sale for $21.00) and Sterile Bottled Water . . .Then let them Dry over night . . . They work just as well as when I first opened them . . . AND - It really helps save "Me" money . . . Just sayin' . . .

Before Upgrading from a walkman in the 70's - to the tech of today - I was even given an iPod on "My" 54th Brithday a few years ago . . . I even have a Motorola Xoom (X-mas Gift last year) and a Samsung Galaxey III (Free Upgrade) too . . .

1- First post of the day, been busy getting things, promised the kids some pets, and we decided on some pet rats. About to place some orders for gear and stuff, guess it is time to get my a tank that hopefully will not leak. Just dropped a order in to ray to try out one of the tanks and some carto's.

I reboot my phone daily honestly. I always have since olden days of smart phones. To reboot hold side button (power button on right side.

Thanks ! I have used all kinds of attys/cartos/etc. I am currently using cartos only. I tried to like the vivis and screw tanks, but am.stuck on cartos. I must be a strange one. I know lots of people that love the vivis/screw tank types. Huh, go figure.

Can't go wrong mmike! Cartos are fantastic and vvv tanks go even better with hhv juice.
