Love the camo. I have the J Wrap Realtree Camo on mine with a wood drip tip.

Looks pink for some reason but it is brown lol.

Big fan of Realtree. Where'd you get that one?

I love my Vamo too, but IMO, a mechanical is always nice to have. It can fire ANY coil you build, regardless of resistance and it's not ever going to break. The small size of mechanicals is nice as well. My private V2 in 18490 mode w/ an Igo-W, fauxgotti top cap and drip tip is shorter than my vamo in 350 mode with an Igo-L and drip tip by quite a bit.

Since the V3 fires 1.2 ohms and greater and I like my attys to be right around 2.0 - 2.4 the Vamo exceeds my needs. But for those into sub-ohm coils, yes, the mech has the advantage.

And like you say, there isn't much to break on it that couldn't be fixed with a little tinkering. (Fire button might have problems working smoothly after some time depending on the build?) So a good backup if all else fails. But I would hope I have another Vamo before resorting to that.

As to size... I know some people have complained the Vamo is large and heavy. I don't really see the smaller stature of the mech as being more (or less) desirable. Even a squat batt tube is still a batt tube and looks more like drug pipe of some sort than a "cigarette" to someone who doesn't know better. If a mech looked like a cigalike and hit like a Vamo, then I'd see a very clear advantage. :D Though to be fair it's more portable. A man might not mind putting a mech in his pocket. Speaking for myself, even a squatty mech is too bulky for my pocket.

My vamo v3 was my intro to vaping. I have had it for about 3 months now and despite the low ohms/o-ring failure, I have had no problems with it.

Once I found micro coils and RDA's, I needed something bottom fed. My reo is my work horse, but my vamo is my gf on the side, or is it the other way around. Whats great about micro's is that you can make a higher ohm coil so you can fire it on the vamo.

Nice Trayce (Vamo sl%$). Glad you like your new Vamo. It was the first step up from ego c's for me. Very exciting. I have the Vamo 3 in SS. Works great. it's now just one of 4-5 devices in my rotation, but I still like it. Don't mind the swirls at all, look better in person than in pictures. Plus the SS has a matte brushed look that minimizes the effect of the swirls IMO. Now that I've had it a couple months, think I'll get a wrap for it. Got some AW IMR 18350's last week and have been using it in "short" mode lately. Also replaced the unmarked generic 18650's that came with it with AW IMR 18650's. Still using the Intellicharger i2 battery charger that came with it though. It seems to work fine. I just don't trust those batteries.

The vamo really is a great mod, especially for the price. I was just ...... the other day when I built a 28g microcoil quickly before work and it came out at 1.1ohms. My fault, but still, I was really wishing I hadn't ruined the switch assembly on my private that morning. Lol.

I assume the "o-ring failure" you are referring to is the grommet that holds the center pin in place? I know some people had trouble with pushing their pin down below it, and ended up replacing it with a Danko o-ring from the local hardware shop. From what I read it works better than the original. I haven't had that problem myself.

But what do you mean by 'low ohms problem'? Just that it's not designed to fire anything lower than 1.2?

As to micro coils, have you seen the newest vertical micro coil mod for Kanger and Aro heads? http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/477072-bsds-vertical-hollow-core-micro-coil-build-aro-evod-protank-heads.html

@Trayce,

Its a 6 ml Smok Bottom Dual Coil Carto with pyrex tank.

Sweeet! Thought it was a big fat carto [like the Zeus Smilomizer] except made for a 510. Looks mighty nice though! (Has anyone ever seen a monster carto for a 510?)

:D At least you can successfully build a 1.1 micro-coil! (As Get Smart would have said, "Missed it by thissss much!") I know, that's probably wayyyyy before your time.

Ah yes, Get Smart - we had that in England when I was a kid. Must've been annoying to have those doors slam in your face all the time. Maxwell, wasn't it?

hah...wasn't that the guy that talked into his radio shoe

"Missed it by that much."
Bonus points if you can say it in his voice

Double bonus points if you know what we are talking about :D

That's right, Maxwell Smart and Agent 99 played by the lovely Barbara Feldon. :) And they both would have looked quite smart vaping a Vamo, don't you think? Same with Steed and Mrs. Peel, which came from your side of the pond. :) The dashing Avengers. ;)

Oh, not The Avengers! The Persuaders were much better (as was the theme tune).

"The ole double-points if you know what we're talking about trick!"

And let's not forget the Dome Of Silence, which was a plastic half-bubble that would drop from the ceiling over the Cheif's desk so that Max and the Chief could discuss top secret plans... only they could never hear each other under the thing so 99 -- who would be standing outside of it -- would have to yell to them what the other was saying. :D Then there was poor Agent 13 who always got stuck running stake-outs from a trashcan. C.H.A.O.S vs C.O.N.T.R.O.L. You had to love it. :D (Actually, to sort of stay on topic, those were the days the tobacco companies had a stake in all the TV shows, so everyone had to smoke. Lucy & Desi... .... Van ....... I think even Andy Griffith smoked. It's amazing they didn't make Lassie smoke. :D)

EDIT: The ECF auto-editor edited Van ....'s first name out!! LOL!!

The Persuaders? Was that also from England? I don't recall that one. But I thought the Avengers' tongue-in-cheek humor was very good, though they must have had a short budget because they used a lot of weird props like they'd have a scene where there was 100 baby balls rolling around or whatever. But I thought Steed and Peel had great chemistry. Oh, those 60s shows.... ya gotta love 'em.

The Persuaders was fun - Roger Moore and Tony Curtis. Fast cars and stupid dialogue.

The best prog from those days was The Prisoner starring Patrick McGoohan. Imho.

Don't know that those two ever made it across the pond, but just Wiki'd "The Prisoner" and it looks like it was quite interesting. Spys and sci-fi... what's not to like? :)
