I'm a Vamo fan also. I've got backup Vamos for my Vamos. Got an SVD also and it's nice and well built but I still find myself preferring to use the Vamo. It just feels better to my hand.
For those that have the top pin push in, it's better to replace that rubber with the rubber grommet out of the bottom of a clearo instead of a o-ring. The skirt on that grommet will better protect the center pin from contact on the inside of the cap. Save those worn out T3 for those parts.

I assume the "o-ring failure" you are referring to is the grommet that holds the center pin in place? I know some people had trouble with pushing their pin down below it, and ended up replacing it with a Danko o-ring from the local hardware shop. From what I read it works better than the original. I haven't had that problem myself.

But what do you mean by 'low ohms problem'? Just that it's not designed to fire anything lower than 1.2?

As to micro coils, have you seen the newest vertical micro coil mod for Kanger and Aro heads? http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/477072-bsds-vertical-hollow-core-micro-coil-build-aro-evod-protank-heads.html

Since you have not be party to this error, lucky you, you would not know that "low ohms" is the error message you get on the vamo when the center pin gets pushed down below the grommet or o-ring and causes a short. The repair was very easy and has not failed me since, the only thing was that this happened the 2nd day I had it. Then I realized it was my own darn fault for screwing my toppers in too much, so my love for the vamo is still strong, it's what got me off stinkies.

I don't vape below 1 ohm, mostly because I like a cooler vape, so most of my micro's can be fired on the vamo.

That rebuild looks very tiresome, and creative. I used to make micro's for my protanks but that was more for novelty.

Likely I never had the problem because I read posts from people who did before I got the Vamo, so I was careful from the start to only screw on devices until they stopped turning freely, then just a quarter turn more or so. I figure if the Vamo can read the ohms, it's making good enough contact. So thanks once again to all who share their knowledge and experience here!

I also like a cool vape. As for the build, it's not really all that much more trouble than a normal build... just takes a little longer to stuff the cotton in around the vertical coil. But the good thing is, you don't have to switch out the packed cotton like you do a wick. Apparently it lasts more like a carto. I only built one so can't speak from experience but that's what I gathered from reading the thread.

Oh well - just ordered an MVP from FT to sit alongside my Vamos. Now the waiting begins... :)

Ohhhh.... the MVP is a box mod. I thought the iTaste was a Vamo-like device. I guess I was thinking of the iTaste SVD.

It's always fun to have toys on the way! :toast:

This is my Vamo. There are many like it but this one is mine. With out my Vamo I am smoking, with out me, my Vamo is rusting.

My first APV ever and it's been thru hell and back and it's just as strong as day one.
Most definitely my favorite.

Curious as to how long you've had it. Am wondering how long Vamos last... maybe I should start a new string called, How Old Is Your Vamo. :)

12 weeks and still running but I'm rough on it. Only mod I have at the moment and it's never got loose or anything. Been dropped umpteen billion times. That's why the white vinyl tape is on the top, it's hiding it's war wounds

12 weeks and it already has war wounds?! You should be one of those testers manufacturers use to see how durable their products are. :D

Now see I thought about that and I wouldn't even know where to start lol. I work for a certain armored car company so I'm constantly moving a mile a minute, in and out of the truck, it falls out of my vest, rolls around on the truck floor, and yet the only thing that actually "broke" was 1 single 3.0 ohm dct carto inside my tank. I can abuse the poop out of any PV just but doing my job lmao

I vaguely remember The Prisoner.

I'm trying desperately to wear out all my other PVs so I can buy more Vamos. Now if they'd just make a box model...

I don't own a box mod so forgive me if this doesn't help, but from what I understand some are bottom-fed attys where a juice bottle is installed inside the box, and by tipping the box you feed the atty so that it kind of works like a dripper. Well, until they come out with a Vamo box mod, :) you might consider this: Vision Aurora BFT NEW- Bottom Fed Tank Top Atomizer Kit - BLACK [gv-AuroraBFT-BLACK] - $27.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more.

You'd attach it to the Vamo and then tip upside down and squeeze the built-in juice bottle to feed the atty... turn rightside up, let go of squeeze, and vape ... acts like a dripper/tank combo. It's pretty reasonably priced and got a stellar review on YouTube from the Aussie reviewer-guy whose names escapes me at the mo'.

But if it's the box itself you like over tubes... then I got nothin'! :D

As to size... I know some people have complained the Vamo is large and heavy. I don't really see the smaller stature of the mech as being more (or less) desirable. Even a squat batt tube is still a batt tube and looks more like drug pipe of some sort than a "cigarette" to someone who doesn't know better. If a mech looked like a cigalike and hit like a Vamo, then I'd see a very clear advantage. :D Though to be fair it's more portable. A man might not mind putting a mech in his pocket. Speaking for myself, even a squatty mech is too bulky for my pocket.

The size of the Vamo is part of the reason I decided to order one (not here yet). I felt like my Pro Tank/Davide deserved a home on a device befitting of their large stature, even though I thought they were cute on the Ego-T w/the beauty ring ... but the main reason I decided to go big APV was because I want to start rebuilding my EVOD/Pro Tank atties, and I need something to check the ohm ratings on.

I ordered the V2 SS (can't wait to get it) instead of the V3 because I don't care for the swirl pattern on the body ... I never thought I'd be a mod girl, and now look :p

Tipping, squeezing, what do they call it "squonking"? No thanks. It's all about the form factor. I love me some boxes! :)

"The ole double-points if you know what we're talking about trick!"

And let's not forget the Dome Of Silence, which was a plastic half-bubble that would drop from the ceiling over the Cheif's desk so that Max and the Chief could discuss top secret plans... only they could never hear each other under the thing so 99 -- who would be standing outside of it -- would have to yell to them what the other was saying. :D Then there was poor Agent 13 who always got stuck running stake-outs from a trashcan. C.H.A.O.S vs C.O.N.T.R.O.L. You had to love it. :D (Actually, to sort of stay on topic, those were the days the tobacco companies had a stake in all the TV shows, so everyone had to smoke. Lucy & Desi... .... Van ....... I think even Andy Griffith smoked. It's amazing they didn't make Lassie smoke. :D)

EDIT: The ECF auto-editor edited Van ....'s first name out!! LOL!!

Computers do strange things with my last name too. They just can't deal with two last names so they drop the "Van" thinking its my middle name. "Sorry about that chief". Of course that's the fault of the programmer not the computer.

I have a 4 month old Vamo that is kind of in between a version 2 and a version 5. It has the top cap like the version 5 but the electronics of the version 2.

I haven't had any issues with my 510 connector but then I only remove my RSST about twice a month to clean any condensation that made it down to the battery post.

IMO the stainless steel Vamo and RSST were made for each other, they look awesome together.

VAMO with RSST Small.jpg

The small gap between the Vamo and RSST is because I use a straight eGo cone trim ring to prevent pushing down the battery connection and to make it easy to get the air hole lined up to where I want it.

The Persuaders was fun - Roger Moore and Tony Curtis. Fast cars and stupid dialogue.

The best prog from those days was The Prisoner starring Patrick McGoohan. Imho.

I liked Patrick McGoohan in Secret Agent and he was a pretty good Longshanks as well. And I really like my old V2 Vamo best of all my other mods. It just does what its supposed to do day after day and has been flawless for 6+ months now.
