I'd say that someone is just calling the stainless steel version the "version 3". I don't see any differences other than the SS in these called "v3".
This isn't the first time I've seen the SS Vamo called "V3". That's exactly what it is, a Stainless Steel V2, but because it's "new" it's a V3. The only thing I want to see on a V3 is rounded buttons, a color changing oled screen and a working lightsaber blade.;)

Yea, looks the same for sure. Site like that are always naming things wrong or putting as many words in the title discription as possible to make sure it shows up on peoples google search. In the more features section they even start calling it a lavatube and post LT features, weird.

It mentions the v2 and 3v in the same title, but only has one modle number (meaning the v2 and v3 are the same thing... except color/SS as people mention above).

I wonder how much stronger the SS one (if any) would be? I don't know much about metal or the construction of the chrome vamo. Maybe someone on here with some more knowledge can chime in on these few question.

Is the chrome vamo constructed of steal platted chrome, or solid chrome?; I don't know much about chrome so I don't really know if anything is made of solid chrome. And I wonder what grade of stainless steal they use on the SS vamo? If its a low grade SS then it could still actually rust, so the chrome one would be better in that sence.... not sure if the SS will be stronger, threading included, than the chrome one either.

I'm still working on falling in love with my v2 chrome, just got it this weekend. But if the SS proves to be stronger I think I'll have to pick up a 2nd one.

The Stainless is more durable. The Chrome Vamo is Brass, plated with copper, plated with chrome. This makes it solid, but also more prone to bends, dings, and dents.

I have the SS and the Black Chrome.

So far, I prefer the SS.
It seems to not get fingerprints as bad.
Also the battery compartment seems to fit my AW IMR 18650 better when I shake it side to side.
Less rattle....I actually took the tape off the battery.

The spring is also more secure. It has the shorter fatter spring. The Black Chrome I have has the thinner spring.

The only drawback I am seeing right now....is on my RBA the battery cap does get warm.
Sometimes hot if I chain vape.
I think this shorter spring might give off some resistance or something.

I am thinking of trying the hot spring I have saw links about.

Either way, if I had the choice....I would of got 2 SS ones instead of a Black Chrome.

Nice man, I definatly need to get an SS as well then. The new spring sounds nice. The one that comes on the v2's or chrome modles is super lame. I saw someone post a really nice site to get the perfect hot spring for the vamo. I'll find the link and post it up.

Several people have posted that this spring works, HeliX hot spring. I have this spring in my Chrome VAMO, Silver Bullet/Omega - Replacement Hot Spring. It works perfectly but alt.smoke has been out of stock for over a couple of weeks. :(

With the Helix spring...do you have to solder it in or anything? Or can you just place it in there and screw the cap on?

No solder needed. I just pulled out the base of the spring a smidge with my hands. The spring fits tight and doesn't fall out when I change batteries. Others have reported doing the same with the Helix spring.

I currently have the chrome one and i'm looking to get the stainless steal version everyone is talking about in this thread. Can you guys hook me up with the places you ordered them from? i just need the body, no batteries or charger.

Also, i've seen some called the v3 or SS model that have plastic buttons... what's that all about? Is the plastic buttons the old version, or does the SS come with plastic ones?
