Oh I know... You are very helpful I was being sincere... Lol I have never had a 306 so I don't know if the diameter is thinner than my adapter... If it is, I don't seep the drip tip working for this idea.

I just kept looking at the aurora bft and thinking... There's gotta be a way to do that here... Lol

Sad day for my XL!! Spring collapsed in it and almost had a battery meltdown. I kinda knew it was coming at some point. The last few times I was tightening the Igo-L down I noticed it would thread just a little farther on to it and then it happened... Hard short! Spring collapsed and it is toasted!!! Not sure if the spring can be replaced in it, but I think it is just a little out of the parameters of my modding abilities. I think what happened was the 510 connector broke down inside, (threaded about a 1/2 turn more than usual), that caused the wiring to short it out. Positive touched the negative...It's pretty much spare parts now... It was a good run at the very least and opened up my eyes to possibilities... So for those of you that are modding your XL's with rda's, be careful as the same may happen to you. I don't know what I could've done to prevent it, (other than not do it at all), but you don't learn unless you try!!! Maybe mom was right after all with her words of wisdom!!! I might break down and spring for a new XL or maybe another BF out there that can take an rda, don't know... I have recently ventured out into the world of rba's and have had good luck with those so far... Now i'm down to my Natural/RSST setup and my Ikarus 2.1... I'm glad I at least had those to back me up in the time being. The XL/Igo-L setup was working so good till the end though... I think just a little longer 510/510 connection would make it fool proof. Maybe I'll shoot an email over to Shifu and see about the possibility to make a connector that will work... Anyway, here is a pic of the collapsed spring for those that have never seen one....

That sucks. Out of warranty I take it?

Sorry Eddie, I didn't see your post until today. Yes, sadly it is out of warranty. Although I don't think I could've sent it in knowing how it happened. I was the one that forced the atty on there and I believe the 510 connector separated inside the top of the device causing it to short. I may at some point dissect the top half just to see if it can be repaired. At this point I really have nothing to lose either way...

No biggie. If it isn't/wasn't the connector maybe the positive pin shifted . Shifts the insulator gasket causing contact. I wrote vapage listing some of the suggestions for improvements we've come up with collectively. I doubt they'll respond. We'll see tomorrow. It's on the edge of being a great device with some really simple improvements.

Using a micro coil with cotton but still have some fiddling to do. Its not up to par with the 1.7 cartos I was using. Switched back to the carto this morning cause today will be an 18 hour day at work to make up for being snowed in yesterday and I gonna need the nic. I will get it figured out tho.

Yeah something is off if the carto is outperforming a micro coil whether cotton or SS. Had to use a hybrid atomizer for half a day yesterday and I really loved those. It did the job but, not nearly as well in the end...

I'm doing a 28g 10 wrap around a 1/16 bit for 1.0ohms with SS mesh...

Nothing better IMHO. Get a good 30 days out of one...

Have you opened up the air flow on your atty? I have heard they perform better after their opened up some...

Thanks so much for this thread Eddie:) I successfully finished modding an a7 and adapting it to work w my vmod xl. Used a 510-510 connector from MyVaporStore and one o-ring around neck of connector. also placed a larger oring in chamfer of hole in body. Works great. Drilled a 1/16 airhole in cap. Hits like a champCAM00216.jpg

Very welcome. Nice work. Definitely makes the vmod more enjoyable. I've been looking out for a drip rba with the dimensions of the squid but,a "screwed"top cap. I drip so often that the cap occasionally pulling off the squid is a bit of an annoyance. If the Igo S had a screwed top cap I'd go with that. I just may anyway. Rob over at Reosmods is selling the Igo S drilled for bottom feeding already. Might be something to look into as your next rba...
