I think the same has happened to most of us at some point or another. That's why it's good to have a few different flavors on hand. Our taste buds get tired/change. After awhile, try your favorites again. Odds are your taste buds will reconnect with it down the road. I mixed double chocolate/vanilla/caramel for quite a long time and loved it. Then I hated it. LUV it again. It does kinda keep this vaping interesting. : )

I agree with what the others have said. You might want to find a "palate cleanser flavor", like a mint or a menthol. Mine is Candy Cane or Arctic Ice by Vaporbomb. If I can't taste anything, I'll vape that and french inhale it, too, for about a half-hour. After I switch back to a different flavor and all is well. Also, don't forget to drink lots of water, this can help soothe your taste buds. :vapor:

yep common problem, switch up flavors and you'll keep it new and interesting. I remember as a smoker, it was always strange to smoke something that wasn't 'my brand' because I could actually taste it, and when I went back to my usual brand it was 'normal'/bland again, the way I wanted it. I find that with vaping one flavor a long time it eventually becomes bland and normal, but I actually like switching up flavors with vaping to avoid the blandness, unlike when I smoked

Your tastebuds have nothing to do with it. they only taste 5 flavors, sour, sweet, bitter, salty, and umami. It's your nose that tastes your liquids (nex time hold your nose while vaping a strong non mint/cinn flavor, you will taste nothing other than maybe a little sweetness. If you start to get less flavor, clear and/or reset your nose. Try smelling something strong for a while (I put a little vick's rub in a napkin and inhale for a few mins). That's the reason changing liquid flavors help "reset" your nose, because it's acclimating to another smell. Acclimation is like when a farmer no longer smells manure when it's all around him. You need to vary your juices.

Or just try keeping some manure on hand. ;)

You sense of taste and smell are probably still recovering from smoking. And yes, taste is directly related to smell, it's true. Once your taste buds and sense of smell return, you might go through more "flavor cycling" where it seems like juice lose their taste. Change out your flavor for a while, especially if you've been vaping the same flavor for a while.

I've been vaping Chocolate Eclair all day and I could hardly taste it after about the 4th hour. On the way home from work, I switched out to a minty flavor. I dripped some Mocha Smoke when I got home, then I started dripping the Chocolate Eclair again and it's back to tasting great.

this also happened to me today with french vanilla from pinkspotvapors, i luv, luv, luv it! after 3-4 hours now i can't even taste it, actually i'm kind of sick of it, lol.

i just wanted to add sometimes when a flavor seems weak the battery is low. when i change out the battery the flavor seems stronger. not always , but it does happen.

This has happened to me about 4-5 times in the last 6 weeks. One time it lasted for about 3 days and I was really nervous.
But just like everyone said, it came back. Now days, 6-7 weeks into vaping, it does happen less.
I think that you getting the Reo and loosing taste, perhaps just was off timing.
Hopefully it comes back, if not, go to the Reo thread and someone there will maybe offer other suggestions.

Good Luck and Happy Smelling

This happened to me also, but I found out I was allergic or my tastebuds didn't agree to what i was vaping = cinnamon. First time I vaped, my tastebuds disappeared then I stopped it. Then after a week or so it came back. I then tried cinnamon again and my tastebuds went away again. I guess no more cinnamon juices for me :(

OP - One thing I've just realised and which I think will be the key for me to keep vaping and off the cigs is kind of revolutionary in it's simplicity.

I had read on here of people enjoying all these delicious flavors and 'all day vapes' etc and got the impression that vaping could be a new habbit so to speak as enjoyable as smoking rather than just a NRT (or cig replacement.)

Before that my simple Oriental liquid at 16mg (tastes bland as heck but does get rid fo the cig craving) and my menthol at 11mg were fine and after 6 draws on my pv - the cig craving went.

Then I bought all these flavored juices etc looking for that 'delicious, vape all day, really satisfying' juice - and all the expectations were dashed as they were all weak, too perfumy etc and not as delicious as the expectation I had of kind of a delicious flavored hookah experience.

Now this morning I said to myself 'maybe that is impossible to find. Stop expecting more than just something to do instead of smoke a cigarette and stave off the cravings.'

Just pulled 6 draws off a strawb menthol mix I made which was too weak and not that magic elixor I was hoping for

And you know what? it works like that for me. It's not going to be this amazing all day delicious treat for me.

But just now, I had those 6 puffs, they were satisfactory (not AMAZING! DELICIOUS!) and I no longer want a cigarette. Next time I want a cig, I'll have 6 more puffs and put the pv out of my mind until I have another craving (most of which I have in social situations) and then drawn on the pv again.

As I said, perhaps better juices will pleasently surprise / shock me and be more flavorful, but if they don't I can live with just a good strong menthol like I bought before and satisfy my cig cravings. And just spend a lot less time thinking about my pv, just have it there for when I feel the craving and then pop it out of my mind until next time. With the low hassle needed in doing that with this pv due to the tank sytem, that wont be too difficult.

And I will be a HEALTHIER Hotwire.

Isn't that the main reason we all came here?

Perhaps not making such a big fuss over our pvs and vaping is the key to realising it for what it is (simply something to get rid of cig cravings) and making that work?
