Like watching and being in formed of all the latest vaping news and what's going on in the world of vaping. And you guys seem to do a pretty good job and you all seem to vibe well together on the show.
With that said, the show is a little on the long side. With most episodes running 2 hours, it is hard to find time to really spend at one time. I never watch it live because after work it is hard to dedicate that kind of time on a weekly basis. So I just watch them on YouTube, and it is usually a three day event or sometimes two.
I give it to you guys for scheduling the time out of your life's every week to broadcast the show, but was thinking if you cut down the run time of the show it might help draw a larger crowd. Not sure if this has been discussed before or not, and by no means trying to tell anyone how to run their own webcast, but as an average everyday viewer, just offering some friendly suggestions that might help you reach a larger audience.
And after watching a few it seemed like the live part of the show could be cut down to maybe and hour. That would give you time to go over the major news or headlines, then take calls to discuss or time to speak with guest and do give aways. The other bits like local meets or the viewing of new stores or events could be broken down in to separate episodes to be aired on a second day to bring viewers back more then just once a week. And with Amanda doing her reviews now, that could be added in to a weekly cycle to provide a viewing experience over several days. And with you guys launching the Ruko player channel, that would help give people a little more to look forward to other then a rerun of a live show.
So to add a little more structure to my ramblings....
Main show aired live:
Warm up time and quick recap from last weeks show.
Main stories and headlines in the world of vaping.
Talk time about stories with callers and or guest and get their point of views.
A quick consumer news segment talking about upcoming products/reviews that will be talked about in more depth in another show.
A quick spot for less important news or headlines
Give aways - These should always be last to keep the viewers watching the show until the end. Pull them in with the news and info, and keep them until the end with the excitement of maybe getting something cool. Every great show does this in one way or another. Whether it is the news saving the most important message until the end, or a comedian saving his best line for last.
Other ways to get the rest of what the show covers in and to create a viewer base that will stay interested by little bits threw out the week.
A show for consumer products and reviews:
Like the reviewing of mods, juice, new accessories, and whatever. This would be awesome. To have a show that covers a few things in one episode. Then once the review is done the vape team members can ask questions directly to the reviewer about the product or give their own opinions. Kind of like review meets Q&A, and the questions getting asked by a different array/kind of vapers adds to the information about the product the reviewer might of missed, or the general public might have wanted to know. Also including in the show products that people should stay away from like in this last episode of the vape team.
The local show:
A show to discuss what is happening in the local market, meets and events.
Maybe try to do interviews with the people hosting the local meetings as well as shop owners and event planers. Announce the local meets and try to get those hosting on the show to tell us a little more about it and what goes on. Wether it is via Skype or telephone, would be interesting to know a little more about these. Maybe help encourage others to try to host their own.
And as a last suggestion, it would be nice to get more people from both sides of the fence to public speak about their views. Pro and Anti vapers and why they feel the way they do. To the anti vapers, find out why they believe the benefits out weigh the positives. And what I mean by Pro vapers, is maybe try to track down and speak with lawyers who support vaping or doctors how might be willing to voice their opinions on the subject. People who might help play a critical role in the future of vaping.
I know that is kind of a lot to read, and sounds crazy. Jut trying to offer a few suggestions. But I think a format like this could really help appeal to a larger group of people. And by breaking things down in to a few different shows, you might open the Vape Team up to a wider range of people. And I don't think it would be much more work then you do now, just structured a little bit differently and and a little more time editing for the other shows than spreading the whole time on one long live show.
So hope you will take this seriously and give it some thought. I know the whole thing is scatter brained, but I work long hours and don't fell like busting out Microsoft Project and organizing my thoughts once 5 pm hits
