Received one of these for review yesterday. Battery door is not magnetic and the board shows an initial programming date of 9/1 so it must have been manufactured fairly recently. It would be a fairly good looking device without the hideous branding. Now I just have to dive into Escribe and figure this all out.

Still waiting on mine.
Some of you that have had the VTBox for a while, other than the battery, how are you liking the mod? Is it holding up?

Thanks. I'm planning to replace the battery anyway. Just hoping the reports of the elimination of the Deans connectors aren't true.

I don't like that they switched from magnets to all screws. I will switch it back to magnets.

I have one of the early models SN: 0104 Red / Black with magnetic door and glued 510. Overall the enclosure is pretty solid but two problems I've had is the 510 came off in the first week or so and I'm noticing a little more movement on the magnetic door. It's not a lot of movement but more than it used to have. The magnets are very strong so it's not like the door would fall off. Personally I would have preferred the door to be bolted now that I know the battery pack really isn't easily replaceable. Other than that the enclosure is holding up well to daily use. As to the mod if you like the DNA200 board you already know what your getting.

I replaced my ailing Lion Power "1800" with a Turnigy 1300 today, back in business again.

How was the fitment? Also do you plan on running Battery Analyzer to compare to what you were getting with the original? I'm still waiting on Gearbest for a replacement battery but beginning to feel like I'll never see one, over two months now on the ticket.

It is just a fuzz longer. There is plenty of metal that I could have removed if the board wasn't still in there. Not concerned with battery analyzer as it's here

Looks like about the same capacity I get with the 1800 mah pack that came with it. It might still be advantageous to run Battery Analyzer so you can see when / if the voltage balance between cells begin to be unbalanced. I know on the Lion Power pack after I hit 3.6V cell 1 & 3 discharged more rapidly than cell 2 did and became more and more unbalanced so that's what I set my soft cell cut off at. Using the default in Escribe of 3.09V provided about an additional .8Wh but the cells were off by something like .2V -.3V if I recall correctly. The spreadsheet doesn't list a Soft Cell cutoff used to get those numbers so I wonder if they're just using Escribes default or if some of them used the manufacturer specs? Kind of comparing apples to oranges if the battery curves are different or using a different Soft Cell cutoff between manufactures.

My cell cutoff is 3.5 volts, there's not much vape time left below that vs killing off the battery sooner.

so any objections against this mod? I preorderd it and waiting really long and ended up cancelling. Might jump on this again now :)

I still love the looks and I love the dna200 .. so what can go wrong.

The enclosure is fine for the most part if you don't mind the size. I've not seen anyone run Battery Analyzer come anywhere close to the advertised 1800 mah though, most results coming in around 1300 mah. I think the biggest unknown would be if you ordered one which version would you receive, with magnets or without, direct soldered battery or connectors etc..

As for the DNA200 board it seems there's still a pretty high fail rate, everyday I read of someone reporting their device just up and died mid puff / while charging after a week, a month or two month of use. Read a report from one user that has had 4 boards fail and he indicated there are some hardware differences in the boards so it also seems there are some unpublished hardware revisions going on behind the scenes with the boards.

I'm over two months of delays for a replacement battery and comments such as "please wait 3-5 days, Please wait 3-7 days" and now finally they've posted "The item is on backorder" So at this point I've pretty much given up on Gearbest.

So with the fail rate of the DNA200 boards and difficulty in getting warranty replacement from China I'd suggest if you bought one to find a reliable vendor in the states or a local B&M.

ok, thanks for the heads up. I am very satisfied with my Vaporshark DNA200, so I was looking for another DNA200 (until the whiteout arrives, lol).

Well cant seem to find it I may have deleted it but VS sent out a E-flyer for 10% discount I believe. But be sure to be aware of the credit card scraping problems they've had and read the VS 200 thread. You could probably get the discount code there as well.

I had a 5 ml juice leak one day. I got juice on the balance connector. I didn't realize this till changing the battery and all was well till I left the mod sit for a few days and it drained the #3 cell down on the new battery also. It is OK now.

I'm going to do the same to the original battery, I'm quite sure there is nothing wrong with it.
BTW, my friend finally got his black and white Vapecig box from FT a couple of weeks ago and his battery has an XT 30 or XT 60 connector on the battery, I forgot which one. The door on his is screwed on .
