That doesn't look good...

Well there goes "hoping it will not affect to many" thats horrible. It was just a picture posted over there but seeing it in a video its even worse.
There is no another way to fix it then hot glue or 2 component stuff whatever people want to use as there is no metal to secure a nut from a 510.
Like this guy says, heath will break 100% of them loose.

Nice to see they made it a removable battery. Means I can hook mine up to my 12V DC power if I want. Need to find out what that battery connector is called.

Overall this box looks more like a project box rather than a working mod, to me. I mean, glue the 510 and it will work. But my first thought is I need to get in there and do the 510 properly at least, and use it as a dna 200 box to work from.

I hear ya. Was totally ready to pull the trigger on one of these. Really glad I didn't. Not a fan of tape/glue. :(

I was going to say we get what we pay for, but then I remembered the hcigar VT200 is going to be only a few dollars more than the VTBox's proper list price and I am certain that will be vastly better.

Then again, I must remember I only paid $114 for that, and it's worth more than that in parts alone.

For $159 I would be a bit annoyed, for $114 I'm still happy.

That connector is called a deans connector.

Ahh thank you, I have heard of that. When I made my own DNA 200 I bought a bunch of connectors including JST, XT30 and XT60. I used them so I could switch between 12V DC PSU and a normal battery. Deans is of course the one I did not get :) I will order some from eBay.

Somehow the review is a bit over the top. He unscrews the button and then laughs that he can unscrew it. What did he expect? Buy some superglue or expoxy and fix the magnets and 510 and everything is perfect. No dealbreaker here, just some DIY in case it is needed. Definitely looking forward as it looks better than expected for me. (esp. for $114)

Ok, just saw Vapnfagan's review... bummer, big bummer. Lose 510, DNA board taped to the front plate, lose magnets... that's just not acceptable. I canceled both orders immediately. Probably going to look for a custom mod with at least 1800 mah LiPo. I may pay a little more, but at least I get good quality.

Daisychain, I totally understand you not wanting to feel bad about your purchase. But surely you can't maintain that it's acceptable to have to glue a 510 connection? In any mod, at any price, this is unacceptable.

There are plenty of Chinese mods sold for $40 or even $30 that have none of the flaws than this appears to have.

I agree it will be easy to fix for anyone wanting to do so. But that doesn't make it a small deal, or acceptable. We were lucky to get it for $114 but 99% of people will pay $159, which is not a small price for a mod. It is over five times more than the iStick 40 TC. And while obviously a DNA 200 is no comparison to an iStick 40, you only get that benefit if the mod works and it doesn't excuse shoddy workmanship in a higher-ticket item.

Many customers simply won't feel comfortable applying glue to their mod. Not to mention the question of warranty - will they still take it back if the customer has glued it with superglue?

Yup. And $159 ain't cheap. $159 is about what I paid for my mom's smart TV. Id be pretty unhappy with Vizio if I turned it on and the screen fell out of it due to their cheap playdoh adhesive.

There's a lot of things that go excused in the vaping industry that wouldn't be excusable in others, like the IPV4 and iStick 50w issues. I got my $200 PS4 from a promo that K-Mart had going on last week - if I turned it on and my disc drive fell out, Sony wouldn't tell me "buy cheap, get cheap...should've bought a PC!" I feel like a lot of us get screwed. :(

Be prepared to see some sparks from the deans connectors when you plug them in. They are notorious for it. EC5, EC4, EC3 connectors are much better but take up more room. That's the only reasons they used the deans connectors...uses a lot less space and the batteries come with the connectors already attached if ordered that way.

Whats the retail price of the dna200? 80 around? + 20 for the box and 20 for the Lipo.

For 160? no way. For 114? Thanks for the parts, let's build a working mod out of this :D

btw: you can glue aluminum together so it is like 1 part. It will never ever seperate. not sure if we want this but there are things that are MUCH better than regular "superglue"

I think the part that makes the bond a little more difficult is that you are adhering two different types of metal. The truly sad part about all of this is that people didn't buy the mod for parts, they wanted a working mod to vape with. It's all rather unfortunate.

Then you really have to think about the safety of bringing that glue up in temperature as you vape.
