I'm still happy with paying $114 for this if you can't figure out how to fix your mod then send it back. I built mods before, I already have a solution for the 510. 30 minute fix. For me with a drill, a thread tap and two flat top machine screws. Other stuff is eAsily repairable. Sucks for people who don't have the tools or know how. CANCEL NOW before you end up with China box that's most definitely goin to break. That's still a sweet box to ME.

An epoxy, especially a metal specific one like JB Weld (As VapnFagan mentioned) will set them together as if they were one piece of metal. But that's also not ideal - if the centre pin or some other part of the 510 breaks, it'll be impossible to get it out.

I'm wondering if there's better ways to fix it than that. Some way to bolt it to the chassis from the underside or something.

Whats the retail price of the dna200? 80 around? + 20 for the box and 20 for the Lipo.

For 160? no way. For 114? Thanks for the parts, let's build a working mod out of this

btw: you can glue aluminum together so it is like 1 part. It will never ever seperate. not sure if we want this but there are things that are MUCH better than regular "superglue"

If you're buying one of each, yes. Don't forget they're buying these parts wholesale, in bulk. So the prices are less than that, including the DNA200 chip. How much less, I'm not sure. But this was mentioned somewhere in another thread here.

Either way, purchasing something you know is faulty before you even get it is frustrating, no matter how it's justified. There's DIY (do-it-yourself) projects and there's YDI (you-do-it) purchases. This was intended to be a YDI purchase. I'm glad you can salvage this for parts if nothing else, but make no mistake, they're making a profit off your sale.

I ordered a custom mod instead. It's a little pricier, but it comes with a 2200maH Max Amp lipo with lifetime warranty, is user replaceable and the mod looks sick. Cost me more then the 2 VT 200's I had on pre-order (one for $114, the other $159) but in the long run I think it's the better way to go. Better quality, nice looks and with 2200maH I should be ok for going a day without charging.

I don't care if they make money with my purchase as I could not buy it cheaper.

Don't get me wrong, it is very very bad that the mod has this issues but this does not surprise me and is a smaller issue for me than some self igniting mods out there.

I don't even care if my mod comes assembled. Just throw all the necessary parts in a box (what'll probably end up looking like anyway when it gets to my door step) and gimmy a ....... tracking number. LOL

Yeah it's rather rubbish. The silly thing is I would bet good money that by the second or at least third batch, they will respond to the reception and get it fixed properly. It might even be (partially at least) a production glitch on batch one.

But by then it might be too late for their reputation - especially as the HCigar VT200 will then be available and I'm sure will be very good from the first batch.

I am not defending it. I am just not surprised at all and still fine for 114.

Btw someone mentioned they use a male instead of a female connector on the Lipo which is bad because of accidental shorting when removing

Oh yeah, good point - that's terrible! I didn't even think of that. Brush that against a screwdriver and BOOM. (Well, more like Tssssssss.. but still.)

Don't forget this thing sells for 160 bucks not that short 114 bucks period. A glued on 510, tape to hold the chip in place and so on shouldn't be done for a box that is being forced to be sold at 160 bucks.

I 100% agree with you there how ever I'm just going to let mine arrive I think. I cancelled my Smok xcube 2 preorder to get this. Hope for the best and get a tube of JD weld at the ready! Not the right philosophy I know but I really can't be bothered to wait on preorder after preorder for another issues to be found with other mods. If some day I end up with a nice spare amount of money I might treat myself to the vaporshark 200 as after owning the rDNA I really like its design and form.
