It seems clear that Ralph Stanley II ("TWO" as he is known) has his eyes set on a career in country music rather than Bluegrass—perhaps a la the late Keith Whitley. After four solid Bluegrass albums for the Rebel label, "Two" has this nicely produced set of 11 songs that feature him in a country setting. The songs are well-chosen and come from a variety of mostly "heavyweight" writers like Townes Van Zandt, Lyle Lovett, Tom T. Hall and Elton John. The pickers who accompany him here are actually all Bluegrass artists (Adam Steffey, Randy Kohrs, Cody Kilby, Tim Crouch, and Ron Stewart), but they produce a comfortable acoustic setting, with more emphasis on dobro and lead guitar and very little banjo.

This train still runs on the west sloap of Colorado in Durango to Silverton!

Hi pri and Redd and SD and everyone else,

It's been a long time since I dropped in, so I thought I'd just stop by to say hi. I am really working on going to sleep at an earlier time now. I've been very busy trying to buy and list Holiday stuff on ebay. This is the biggest season and I don't want to miss it.

I had a strange thing happen last night. I finished a listing for a watch at about 2:20AM and don't usually list that late because the time you list is the time your auction ends; but I just had a feeling. There were also four other people listing the same watch at a lower price than I wanted to go but I listed anyway at my higher price. Well 10 minutes later my iphone ebay app made its wonderful cash register sound (which means I sold something.) When I checked it out someone had just bought that watch at 2:30AM for a higher price than four other people had it listed. Very weird, almost magical!

Anyway, that kind of got a fire lit under my .... and I spent most of the day doing listings today. No magic; but I got a lot done!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and I'll try to stop in tomorrow to chat and post some more and check out some of what I missed these many days since I was here last.
