That's from the first album. It's some tasty, ear-tickly stuff for sure.
Yep, got this on vinyl. I saw these guys just before Randy died back in the late 90's. They were playing a pool hall in Lewisville,TX.
It was kinda sad, but really kickass. I was sitting about 10 feet from the stage, and they rocked out!
Ed Cassidy was in his lates seventies and was doing stuff on the drum kit that most of the young bucks ain't never knowed about none. (that spelling/grammar is redneck humour to all you sophisticated folks)
Loves me some Spirit! One of the most underrated bands ever.

I've always wished to play something but never could, so I used to tell everyone that I can play one heck of a radio, or stereo, or record! Got totally hooked on music, in the 60's and mostly still love those sounds and thats why I play a lot of it! So I can play a great CD and still wish I could play an instrument though! This great song from Steppenwolf never gained the popularity it should have - probably because it's so long.
I just had fun playing along with it and decided to make this video. I hope it will reach a few people so they can see what a great message John Kay had back then - and that it's (unfortunately) very - if not more so - relevant today.
