Hola back atcha Cactus! And Good Morning Hypno!

How are YOU doing? I'm struggling to keep up. The harder I work the more I get behind lol.

I'm out of commission today and tomorrow :( no hiking. Dog doesn't get it either... we've been going so far/long the past few days and I've been using my "lesser" boots and now have a split toe and an entirely blistered pad (and toes) on my left foot. You know what's difficult... trying to reason with a dog that give's a rat's ... about your ailments and just wants to go-go-go - it's like trying to baptize a cat - they ain't going for it - no way no how.

Damn it Hypno... don't you know how dry it is over here in NM? If I have to drool anymore, I might as well go lay out in the mesa and just become one with the sand ;)

Dang, Cactus. What part of NM? The east got some rain last night...
We only got about 1/2". It's dry as hell here. Big, old trees are dyin', the lakes are low, and summer's right around the corner...
It's OK, Man-Bear-Pig can fix it!

Mornin', Sun!
Looks like you better get some coffe and git after it!

Baby, there ain't enough hours in the day! I need about three solid workdays at school just to deal with it! I hate teaching a new class and having to find/hunt down the resources for it.

My parents live in ABQ during WWII and grandparents lived there until both died. They invited me to come out for a long visit when I was 17 and I was all excited to go. Then they stipulated that they would be the ones who would approve of whom I could befriend/do things with and it wasn't going to be any of "those locals". I kindly passed on the opportunity after letting them know just what I thought about racists. That was the first time I was not scolded by my dad for "talking back" to an elder.

We've had a dry winter too Hypno. My azaelas are blooming but many buds are drying right up... I still have big red camellia blooms though -- been blooming for three months now - amazing. This was it on the last day of December... looks just like a Christmas tree.

Wow... I remember lush gardens like that... back in CA where it was effortless to get something to grow. It's a chore here to get a weed to grow (that's an overstatement... they still grow like weeds).

Yep -- different soils for different plants! My whole backyard is planted with just plants -- lots of giant liriope, azalelas, daylilies, palm tree, etc. so we don't have to mow around the pool. Require a lot of weeding though!

I teach junior/senior science: chemistry, meteorology, and now oceanography. Don't care for the oceanography much -- not enough hands on activities to suit me and the curriculum is booooooring. Of course my students don't know I think that. I go in all excited every day about what they are going to learn and that keeps them on their toes lol. I used to teach geology so I supplement with what I can in the way of activities and search the net as well. All right -- I'm outta here! Cya!
