Just so y'all know, I'm not a native of Kentucky. About ten years ago, I reached a point where my life was up in the air, so I decided to let it land in a new place. I loaded the car with everything I could, sent the rest of my stuff to auction, let the bank have the house, and headed out. I hit a number of cities and then found a glorious apartment for very little money. I've been too lazy to move on since then. (A great plus is that Kentucky is a prime location -- I'm a little over 600 miles from my nearest relation!)
My fiance is bent on our having a kolomeyka . . .

That's something we have in common, Fant...I'm not from KY either. Isn't it funny how it's important for people to know that? lol
I also loaded everything in my car and set off to visit a friend in VA, then to see my mom in KY. Nine years later I'm still here. I will probably repeat the process as soon as I'm in good shape to do so. Definitely don't want KY to be my "landing pad." Left most of my stuff in Texas except for my dog, my yarn and I should have brought my darn records too. Oh and also a boyfriend. I didn't plan on never going back...just happened.

What do you fly? I have a friend here who let me sit in his 2nd seat to take a short fly up to Ohio. We had a burger and pie at the little airport's diner and flew back home. It was a little Cessna. Is that the kind you fly? Definitely amazing up there, under the clouds but with the birds.

hejira, Life is what happens when you're making other plans. I stopped off in Nebraska to see my mom and to wait for a check to catch up to me. Twenty-three years, and a marriage and divorce, later, I finally left (and no, the check never reached me, must have been lost in the forwarding).
Talking about life creeping up on you, I just realized it's about two hours later than I thought it was. The hard drive on my DVR is starting to make noises, and I have two movies I want to burn to DVD before there's a problem. And I really should take another stab at the font I need (the frigging elves are useless -- they're haven't worked on it at all). And I was supposed to wake Masha an hour ago.

I was going to post a clip of White Nights (Mikhail Baryshnikov and Gregory Hines) to tie in with the last clip.
However Hines is a master with tap, and I always was amazed at the skill for that style of dance.. I know its not white nights but its a great jam.

I took a Master Class a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time ago from Gregory Hines. Yah, he was amazing. White Nights...LOL...I have not thought about that in years. I might have to watch that again for the sheer pleasure of Baryshnikov's sexiness and both of their prowesses!

I've gotten it smoothed out a lot more since that, but it's still not right.
