Took my shiny new kgo out on the lake over the weekend- I'm in the Midwest where we've had a record breaking spell of drought and 100*+ temps....but I was a little apprehensive about the temp, the lake, the boat ride banging around, etc. Whats the opinion out there of just how to handle your setup in 'extreme'( ok, not that I think an afternoon on the lake is equivalent to actual extreme environment or Survivor or anything :D) places?

Actually a lanyard is probably a safer spot than the black hole aka a purse. But then the lanyards would clash with our jewelry, outfit, etc...but I'm not sure my current ziplock bag full of misc bits and bottles is much protection either(whether from banging about or accidental water contact), I guess being somewhat cautious without being neurotic ....and probably looking into a better carry all is the answer. ;)

When I leave the house, I take exactly one item with me. I almost never carry extra batts, extra juice, any cartos, or anything else. I'm not particularly cautious with my equipment and don't really need to be because all but a couple of my PVs are all-metal.

If I'm planning to be in and near water all day, I do carry a PV that requires I have an extra battery with me. That one can get wet, and in fact, it gets washed with warm water often.

Lately, I've had an eGo mini in my hand a small eGo-branded case with my twist, a kGo, juice, and some spare cartos/driptips. The eGo case seems like it would be a good fit to replace your ziploc bag....it did for me!

Your kgo fits which size ego case? I've looked at them, but some family members use an ego setup and theirs are smaller than my 1100 batt-just debating which size case would assure a good fit

I have a case that my eGo mini kit came in...those batteries are only a couple inches long. I'm pretty sure it's the small case. My 1100mah kGo and 1000mah eGo-C Twist have to be tucked up under the elastic and take up the mesh pocket on that side of the case, but they do fit inside, all zippered up. Now, I have my cartos in a pocket on the other side, so I don't have a full-device kGo or eGo-C Twist jammed in there, just the batteries.

I use an eGo-c and I too live in the midwest with the 100+ temps these last few weeks. The only time I have an issue is when I am at work and leave the eGo in my shirt pocket. It leaks and leaks bad, so much, it will leak through my work shirt and my t-shirt. I know it happens because I start feeling a little dizzy from the nic absorbed through my skin. So with it being so hot, I leave the eGo in my locker and it won't leak. It's still in the heat, but it's hotter being in my pocket.

For normal days: Twist + tank in my jeans pocket; hard drive case with spares in my laptop bag (juice in baggies inside the hard drive case).

If I were going on a boat or something, I'd treat it just like I did with cigarettes: bring as little of the cheapest thing I have as possible. A full day? It'd be a big enough boat that a pelican case could hold things. Waverunner? Just don't bring it. Fishing/ski boat…I'd just bring a couple of $5 901/510 manual batts and cartos……if I lose/break/drown one, I'm out $7 or less and just don't care.

Skydiving……I mean…your car keys have to go somewhere, right?

I don't really give my buzz pro much special treatment. It's been on boats, to the beach, in the woods, summer heat, frigid winters (i plow using the tractor and it's usually along for the ride), etc. I just try to keep the really harsh stuff away from it like soaking it in water, leaving it in the baking sun for hours and hours, or getting dirt and sand in it.

With that said though, I'll pick it up with wet hands as long as it's not a huge amount of water, and it has gotten pretty hot before. Other than that though, I let it bang around wherever - obviously I try to keep it in a place where that won't happen but if it gets dropped or knocked into stuff it's bound to happen and it can take it. I'm more worried about losing it than breaking it.

I've learned to be more cautious of the cartos/attys/tanks that I screw on there.. broken a few threads off of tank 510 connectors by leaving my buzz standing on the roof of cars and watching it do a headfirst dive into the pavement.

I had a two day fishing trip a couple months ago, rather than risk my ProVari out in the middle of Lake Erie I took a couple cheap mods from Mountain Vapor to use out on the water. If one of the ended up in the drink I wouldn't be overly upset.

Mountain Vaporizer 18650 Battery Tube

I loaded a couple 3ml slim eGo tanks to use with them and I did attach a lanyard using the vent holes, also I did use my Provari in the cabin and while onshore.

Out for less than 6 hrs, I take a 650 with either a T2 or a CE3 on it. When I need to store it, I unscrew them from each other and put them in with my keys. If I'm going to be gone longer, and that's just been work lately, it's the 1100 passthrough. I can charge off the FM transmitter for my iPod in the car if need be. And in that case I'd have two CE3s in my pocket.

I don't fear any of my hardware getting trashed. I'm pretty careful. Though if I did lose one of my batts, no biggie, I have two more and the internet still sells them. I only have cheap stuff so far anyhow. Not going to change any time soon if things around the house/cars keep having stuff break. Just had to do an AC compressor on the wife's car. And we thought we had no money before. :(

I'd like to know how long the mini-EGO batts that seem to have popped up in the last month last. Most of the time I don't even get close to wearing out a 650 when I'm errand running.

I haven't actually just let one run down, but I've used one for a couple/few hours without killing it. My use was, to me, 'moderate'.....who knows what that is for you! I've also been able to go with just one mini for a day at work: 10 minutes drive each way, a couple 'smoke' breaks, and a half-hour lunch, along with a few puffs in the bathroom. Not the most heavy usage, but it does okay.

i use the vmod 2.0 and have taken it out to the bar and golf course a few times now, no problems at all, i throw it in the golf cart, and the golf carts bangs around alittle, not to worried...the bottle fits more than enough liquid for the day, put a fresh battery in and no leakage or problems.....i also leave the mod in the car while i'm in the gym but thats not much more than an hour at a time without any problems yet
