If I only smoked one in the morning I doubt I would have even considered vaping. 3 for my first cup of coffee was close to normal...

I know, it's funny, I used to think of myself as a heavy smoker until I found this forum. I think the record so far is this one guy used to smoke 5 packs a day before finding e-cigs. 5 PACKS!!!

Yikes! My Dad smokes about 3 packs per day and has for almost 50 years. I think i am going to buy one of these for Christmas and mail it to him (he lives in another state). The problem is he is a "tad" set in his ways. I am not sure he would be receptive to it....but maybe.

LOL Buss, ur smoking habit sounds like mine did. It was def a smoke in my mouth before my eyes were even open all the way. 2 - 3 with my morning coffee, then prob another 1 or 2 before work. 1 on the way to work. and 1 before I actually had to punch in. So prob 5 -6 just to start my day.

But vaping 18 and 24mg non-stop is for sure better than smoking... any day.

If you have plans to visit in the next few months, why not just get a kit for him and get him started in real life. Nothing like one on one instruction, and I always liked smoking with my dad. He probably taught you how to smoke, the least you can do is teach him how to vape and leave the rest up to him.

I doubt i will make it up there. But the bigger point is if he "discovers" it on his own he might use it. If I send it to him he may not. People that have smoked for many years are funny that way because they are sick of people telling them to stop.

I have some stubborn people in my family also. I found that describing it as something that tastes even better than tobbaco cigarettes is the way to go. Emphasizing the health benefis was just a side bonus to them. Well, it isnt... but it had to be treated as such for them to try it out.

I think the reason for this is they are tired of people telling them to NOT smoke and it is something they have done their whole life. So, if "old school" people elect to try e-cigs they look for another angle why they did - like better taste.

In my fathers case they just outlawed smoking in restaurants - and he loves the local coffee shop. It would be an excuse for him to try it...

I vape probably 20 times more than I ever smoked and I'm still saving money. I don't know why but this PV is glued to my face. I like to vape more than I ever liked to smoke if that makes any sense at all. Its changed my life so much for the better. Eventually I plan to slow down vaping and try to set myself on a sorta vapers diet. I'm going to fill a 3ml bottle half way and try to make it all day on 1.5ml. That for me would cost 1.5 dollars a day. For now though I'm just going to enjoy it and not worry about the cost.

I smoked 51 years. For the last 20 at least, it was pretty much one going all the time. Frequently lit the next with the one before it. For me, at least, I think everybody that smokes really wants to quit. Now I vape. . .pretty much all the time. Difference is, at it's worst. . .it's prolly better healthwise than smoking. And I can control the input. PG/VG ratio, nic level, long steady drags, short puffy bursts, whatever I can dream up. I think if you stay with it. . .it is enevitible you will quit tobacco. It stinks, ruins your breathing, burns holes in almost everything, and not the least of which it's outrageously expensive. Many vape once and never do tobacco again. Others blend tobacco use and vaping and gradually work their way outta tobbaco. But, I think it's a forgone conclusion if you stay with it long enough you'll quit tobacco if you want too. Send the ole fart a starter kit for chris sakes. . .the sooner the better. And I can guarantee you nobody is more set in their ways than I am.

Cheers,
otrpu

Well, I am lucky to be alive just based on all the crazy stuff I did in high school, let alone the last ... well, let's just say many years...since...lol.

The things we did back then freaks me out now that i think about it.... get on the hood of a car, while someone driving 60 mph, in the middle of the night, with the lights off, on a back road in pitch black.... just for the hell of it. What in the hell were we thinking???????

Today's soccer mom's would have went into convulsions raising me. A helmet to ride my bike? What?

Then again many of us lit a cig also..... Pretty much the same except the cig has a certain outcome - crazy stunts do not.

Do you refill your cartomizers or do you use them once and throw them away?

I refill them, but after almost a month of refilling them every day or two, they're starting to taste kinda funky -- and that's with rotating about 15 cartos for the first two weeks and then adding 20 more in the last two weeks. Reordered 30 more cartos yesterday. But, since I started, I started cleaning them in a different way, and I'm hoping that will help get rid of the funky taste from now on.

I do as well. i have rapidly figured out i need a better organization system to rotate them better. I have once used carto's mixed in with probably damn near dead ones.
