Yes, you really can't do much in that kind of heat, other than go buy groceries and bringing a cooler and ice along to not destroy the cold stuff before you get home, that kind of thing.

In *total* non-thought mode, I purchased a bug (a new model but used) that was black, with a black interior. That was... Well, I do in home visits with some folks who may not have a/c, and usually, by the time I *just* stopped my car interior from melting, I'd have to clamber out, play around with kids, while trying to not remain brain-dead.... That car was *awful* in so many ways, and I eventually drove it through a massive wash and fried the electrical system. I was not about to repair it, my husband sold it on craigslist with the disclaimer: "My wife destroyed this car (I did also park it at some school, one time, where a, ah, *client* of mine gouged my favorite expletive into it, I was like, "Well, probably fair," LOL) and if I part it out to a junkyard, I'll get $800, so if anyone wants to take it off my hands in whole, I will sell it for $800 OBO, that's about as fair as I'm willing to be."

People are insane about those things, we had about 100 phone calls (even *after* we took the listing down) and bidding wars in our driveway.... One guy did not understand the concept of OBO and said, "I'm not DOING ebay in your driveway!" and took off at high speed, I think we eventually got $1500 for it which was INSANE if you ask me.... I bought a nice white Mazda with a tan interior, and it will be mine forever. Once I've built up my e-cig supplies, as long as I keep not smoking (I AM :) ) I will get it detailed at some point as a reward....

But yeah, the bug days were no fun at all....

Anna (I'm a camel..... Very thirsty at times but I can carry a lot of weight and my disposition isn't always... perfect)

Lol...
Nope.

I lived most of my adult life in GA and Florida, with the highest humidity in the country.
115 in the desert is hot.
Debilitating heat.
Alot worse than 104 in Florida.
I beg to differ adamantly.

By experience of visiting each place back to back several times over.

Furthermore, I posit New Orleans is by far the worst place in the continental 48.

But I sweat a lot. So maybe that doesn't apply to everyone.

75 in New Orleans is crippling for me.

If you think New Orleans is bad, check out Houston. 95-100 with lovely 80-90% humidity. That'll make you pray for tickets to the Northwest Territories of Canada.
I'm in Houston or Dallas once or twice every week.

Delivering in Houston (Von Ormy) tomorrow, actually.

Houston is cute compared to the hell of the other places previously mentioned.

Laredo is obviously worse than Houston and IMO still falls far behind Phoenix.

There's a very good reason for the phrase "but it's a dry heat".

LOL, I went back to Baltimore one summer after living here for awhile, for a visit. Temps were hovering around 100 but I could NOT stop sweating, man. It was awful. 115 here, dry heat is much more preferable (sort of), as long as you drink plenty of fluids, as you are sweating, it just evaporates so quickly, you don't notice....

I simply long for an rv, however, even a tiny one, so I could take some time off summers, and travel around (maybe to Canada, even) for a breather for this heat. I have found my interest in camping in a tent has greatly lessened over the years.

Louisiana, in general, is terrifying. We ended up camping there, a place called "Lake Bistinau" and it was horrifying... We were the only people there without an RV, and we really *needed* one, my son was upset because I wouldn't let him swim in the lake (it was full of water moccasins, snapping turtles, an alligator possibly, and.... Just, no), there was creepy spanish moss everywhere that tickled the back of your neck, and feral cats, at night (my husband actually LEFT the (relative) safety of the tent, and the bugs were... Well, they were something. The park guy actually handed us free, discontinued cerial (Something like Capt Crunch vanilla cinnamon bites) that should have been my first clue.

My favorite thing heard by another camper, who, from his accent, appeared to be from Louisiana, "Might fine and pretty park you have here!" I was like, no, no it isn't.

We lived, but it was a bit touch and go for awhile there, I think we ended up leaving after one night....

As far as I'm concerned, Louisiana is actually owned by Satan and his minions. But, maybe that's just me....

Sounds North of lake Ponchartrain and above sea level.

Once you cross that bridge, you can cut the air with a knife.

Like a thick, oily airborne mist from a fart in a car... that doesn't wash off in one shower.

TBH, you couldn't convince me to pitch a tent down there. Crazy talk...

Lake Ponchartrain, home to the 23 mile bridge!
I was stationed on the west bank of New Orleans, the weather there sucks!

Not in my experience. (vaping not related to sweating, etc.)

You may want to consider having a full workup done, i.e echo-cardiogram + cardiovascular stress test w/electrocardiography (ECG) and blood pressure monitoring on treadmill with cardiologist, just to get a picture of your baseline.

There could be other things going on.

It is relatively inexpensive, and many hospitals will have these tests for reduced "cash price" during February, which is heart month.

I finally did this, not because I was having problems, but because I have friends who seemed in perfect health, but dropped dead behind their lawnmowers/weedeaters, so I asked a cardiologist to do this stuff on me, so I could at least see where I'm at or if I have any risk factors (being an ex smoker) to know about.

I also had the testing done on my legs for PAD, peripheral artery disease.

Anybody who smoked, there is going to be some residual damage to our bodies. Which may or may not resolve totally if there already. Measuring that damage is something you may want to do if you are "concerned" about things changing in your eperiences with your body, exercise, etc.

Sure does!

Had a laborer once tell me they had 2 seasons.

More like hot garbage and those few days they call winter that don't completely suck.
Oh, I drove that bridge. Didn't know it went for 23 miles until I was on it.
Don't forget the bridges North of there that tell you you're no longer on solid ground.

West on I 10 you got the 18 mile bridge over the Atchafalaya river basin.

East on I 10 and North on I 65 there's a pretty long bridge also.

Everything below that is swamp as far as I'm concerned.

But the Ponchartrain bridge takes you to a special place below the swamp and sea level.

It's a special feeling being docked at the New Orleans convention center... looking forward and nearly straight up... knowing that beyond that wall... you are dozens of feet below the base of the huge, loaded cruise ships sticking up 5 to 8 stories above the sea wall...

Knowing that if anything goes wrong my truck will be washed away before I can blink an eye...

And I won't stand a chance...

And the Army Corps of Engineers designed that wall.

It's a sobering moment to say the least.

no, it wasnt

in case anyone missed it:

does vaping cause shortness of breath and/or excessive sweating in any of you?

he didn't mention location or ask about location, that is not relative to before/after vaping/analogs
In case you missed it, shortness of breath has been covered ad-nauseum on this site.

Furthermore, OP has listed several changes in his activity and lifestyle that more than explains cause for his changes.

As well, solutions have been suggested.

But I digress.

This direction of conversation, I'd argue is helping even less.
