So....... Yea,
I vaped out my bathroom....
Dont act like you dont multitask in there either....

Anyway,
When I came out, the plume rolled out the top of the doorway and into the hall, right into the smoke detector.... It went off..... To which my daughter burst out of her bedroom as proclaimed " Wow Bro, a little much!?!

Well i could not set mine off and I definitely fogged it out by chain vaping it over and over again. When it did not go off I climbed up and hit the test button and it is working. It might have to do with the type of detector you have.

Thanks for this thread as I wanted to test this theory and now we need to determine the type of detector it can set off.

I just set off the fire alarm at work last night at 4am. It's a small group home and needless to say it woke everybody up. I had to call my manager to come and shut it off and it was screaming for 25 minutes until she got there. We had to call the fire department to come and check things out and get the all clear. What a night.

From what I am reading right now about setting off a smoke detector it has to do with an optical sensor which I do not believe mine has. I also blew the cloud directly at it during the test and into it watching the cloud creep through the vent slots. was standing there as it was rolling out and dissipating.

No, my manager is a young 25-year-old smoker and she understands and supports my vaping. I did suggest that it could have been my vape that set it off even though I've been vaping there for nearly 3 years. She agreed it probably was, but she said she wouldn't mention it to the firemen and went with a possible system malfunction instead. Whew! :vapor:

Here is an except from a site:

Since there are primarily two different types of smoke detectors- Optical (photoelectric) and Ionization- it’s likely that some newer smoke alarms may use both types of detectors. If you happen to own one…it’s pretty much up to you to test that out. Take a few drags and stand under it. If it goes off…don’t stand under it. If it doesn’t, vape away!

Do you live with anybody?
I am just picturing them walking in and seeing you blow clouds into the smoke detector.
