Vaping and pregnancy

My wife is pregnant. Although vaping is much much better than smoking, is it safe to vape around her?

Id venture to say yes since since vapor is pretty much heavier than air and sinks and the tiniest micron of nicotine she breathes in that may be floating in the air shouldn't hurt her. But I wouldnt be blowing it in her face or be giving her vapor shotties.

There is no systematic data collected on the effects of vaping on the people who do it. I would be extremely surprise if anyone can tell you what the effect would be on another person, even more surprised if there is any info what so ever on the effect on a unborn child.

I just don't think that anyone can honestly answer your question.

nicotine is definitely harmful to developing fetuses, even when there is no smoke involved.

Thus it would be safest to vape away from her until there are more conclusive studies specifically about the effects of second-hand vapor.

When in doubt, do what the doc says. The doc will probably say not to do it in the same room as her. Better safe than sorry would be my advice. Congrats on the expansion of your family!

vaping/non-vaping couples have taken nicotine tests and they all have shown that the non-vaping partner has zero nicotine in their body

obviously be careful, but anecdotal evidence suggests that there's no harm

Thank you all for the input and te congrats. Unless anyone can give me a solid YES with studies to back it up, I think I'll vape away from my wife. Better to err on the side of caution.

Around her? Yes I wouldn't like blow vapor in her face or anything but other than that you should be fine. Not sure if that would even harm the baby but better safe than sorry yanno.

Yeah, i'd say leave the room certainly. Besides being better safe than sorry, it will show your wife that you care enough about your unborn child that you won't take the smallest risk of harming him/her. And it puts you in a good daddy frame of mind too. Good for everyone! Congratulations!

My daughter is 7 months pregnant and I was thinking the same thing....not doing it when she's in the room I'm in...just to be careful....personally I think it's fine as long as she not sitting in my cloud but better safe than sorry.
