Other than in vape shops and lounges, I am still a bit uneasy about vaping in the wild, as a fatherly figure.

If I see an adult vaping anything like a sub-ohm/box mod or above, it's a guy, usually much younger. A few days ago, I saw 2 guys that couldn't have been more than 15-16 walking down my block with box mods. I occasionally see a Harley guy with respectable vape equipment, but nobody like myself..... though I have seen people of all ages in vape shops.

Given I'm no longer a student or hang in a college town, where to go, and how to think about it?

When I see someone like myself vaping, it's almost always an eGo or EVOD type device...... and I almost never see women using anything else, at least in public.

Does vaping with decent equipment, at least in public, end at age 35-40? I want to enjoy this, but I don't want to be seen as a freak either.

I don't care what other people think..I'm not a D-bag about it and blow clouds when and wherever I want, but I really could care less what you(anyone else) think about how I enjoy life
Yep. And some adults love to fart in cereal aisles... Life is short, live it in full.

I am in my 40s, and I do vape in public, but I am respectful about it. On my own porch, I'll chuff clouds off my drippers or Subtanks all I like, on my own property, don't like my rules while I'm on my own property, move along in your own world on the other side of my property line. Out at the store, I'm carrying a smaller box mod with an RTA I'll puff on to and from the car in the parking lot or such. Out at the vape shop, at a vape meet/event, anywhere I am around other like aged and like minded vapers, all bets are off like on my porch unless the establishment management sets down ground rules.

Chuffing or puffing in front of young kids and adolescents/young adults I'll keep it hidden or low key as possible. On a flight, I have cig-a-likes and cartomizers I'll stealth vape with. At a restaurant I've got my daily runner box mod /w RTA and a smaller Ego/Clearomizer set up that if I need to have an emergency vape I'll go to the restroom stall and sneak one until the group I am with wish to finally leave.

I'm discreet about where and when I vape and I was the same way when I was a smoker. I'm a parent and my kids don't know that I vape and I generally keep it on the down low and try not to draw attention to myself. I'm not really into box mods, but I have a nice collection of authentic mechanical mods and I'm over 40.

I'm 41 and have no issues vaping my dripper or genny in public. Sometimes people look, sometimes they ask what it is but I have never been bothered. Most of the time my vaping is met with interest.
When vaping in bars or restaurants (where allowed) I try to restrain myself some. I can't tolerate pg, and my pure vg juice fogs more than I'd like in these situations. I try to be considerate of others.

It's true that the majority of vapers probably still use ego style devices, however, having participated in two public protests against regulation in my country, I'd say the average vaper is about 40+ years and there was plenty of vapers that were 60+. Most of them were toting some really nice gear.

Edit/addition: I strongly believe that the effect of teenagers seeing adults vape is very minor. My parents smoked, pretty much all my friends parents smoked and that never sparked any interest whatsoever. What got me into smoking cigarettes (and I believe everyone else around that time) was other kids/teens smoking in the group. That made it cool, but adults? Nope.
I'd say a teen finding rip trippers on YouTube, with his wierdo way to talk has 50times the capacity of getting a teen to vape as opposed to seeing an adult on the street.

I'm a father of a kid in college and vape anywhere it's legal and don't worry about being seen as a freak. I don't annoy other people with it. I guess I am not sure what's freakish about it.

And Margucci is right, crop dusting any store is a way of life and not freakish. Like anything else, it takes practice and nuance to get the best spread without being noticed. Ideally, you don't want it detected until you are am isle or two away and can laugh when you hear people walking into it. I once epically obliterated a dollar store and no one was the wiser it was me. That's what comes from having the finely honed skills of a master craftsman and the soul of an artist.

I'm seeing more and more people with box devices everyday. I've seen a lot of people bring them into stores(no usage) or stand outside one and vape.

The other day I was at my cell phone carrier store and a person walked in holding their device in hand. I don't feel comfortable doing that, but it's not harming anyone.

I'm not in the age group you speak of, but I've seen plenty of people older than me using their device. Some of them may look freaky, but most of them are regular looking people to me.

I still associate vaping with smoking at 46... So I feel the same stigma when vaping in public places. Not all the time though, especially when I am around smokers. Also, I found the public vapers somewhat different than smokers as they hold their device more like a cup of coffee than a cigarette. I find the vaping devices too big and not as classy as holding cigarettes, most likely because of the leftover brainwashing tobacco propaganda left in my brain in movies and commercials that I use to watch as a young teen... The gestures are different, like these fast past puffs smokers do before throwing their cigarettes away don't exist in vaping and their is nothing to through away. Automatisms deeply impregnated in the smoker or ex-smoker subconscience or social behavior. Smoking was cool... Not anymore though. Vaping is better but I feel that their is still some work to make it somehow more classy if you wish. The youngest may be just doing so.

I'm 34 and drive a volvo and I vape a subohm setup. I don't know if the volvo makes me more of an adult, but it should add points. My friend is an cpa and he vapes a similar setup.. Hmm, my other friend is an rn, and he vapes too. I don't know what qualifies as adults, but we all vape and don't see it as a big deal. I'm not really focused on who else is vaping, unless I'm curious about their setup. I think more adults are using it to quit smoking, and they equate it with "smoking rules", so you're not going to see us vaping in front of a super market or in an alley chucking clouds with our boys or whatever the cool kids are doing. I generally don't vape around people like on the street standing there. I'm usually vaping in my car if i'm out. Whenever I'm in nyc I see all kinds of people vaping, sometimes pretty respectable setups, from kids to senior citizens. Mainly I see ego setups, and that's probably because it's a beginner setup and its picking up so you're going to see more people with the smaller setups especially when they're out. I bring a pretty compact setup with me if I'm going out for a few reasons. It's smaller, conserves juice, and I don't care so much if it gets lost. I also don't drip outside of the house because I don't want to bother dripping every x amount of hits, but that's mainly what I use at home.
