I hate to do it but I'm gonna play the devil's advocate here...

I know we've all found vaping enjoyable and it has really in a very literal sense "saved our lives" but vaping will never and in my opinion should never be allowed everywhere. Fact is it still blows smoke, it's not water vapor it's PG & VG. Some people break out and have allergies to PG, some people don't like being surrounded by smoke, some people are just douchebags! That said it's their personal space and having to come into a workplace or public environment and put up with someone else's addiction or hobby whichever that may be is a violation of their rights.

You've gotta look at it from both ends sometimes.

Nothing is worth your job. I will say I work for a local govt agency in Ca. Though the have passed a law in Ca. Yet it is still under review not yet enacted I am able to vape at my desk. My boss has seen me with my vape machine at my desk. But I have one co-worker who suggested that I take it outside. Although be it he sits way in the back when I know he is in the office I will not vape inside just out of respect and due to the fact if the issue were pressed I would be asked to go outside anyway. But like I started this post nothing is worth your job. Just like one person suggested just go to your smoking area.
Even though we know it isn't harmful we have to be respectful of others feelings.

I work for a large health insurance company and when I worked in office you wernt allowed to even smoke on property you had to walk down to the troll bridge (dont know how it got that name). which was like 2 blocks away from building and we would smoke under the bridge. I do not work in office anymore and I now work from home and I have a strict policy "Only allowed to vape in office on days that end in Y"

on a serious note I vape A LOT sitting here at the computer 8 to 10 hours a day lol. I actually need to slow down

I work in IT where a surprisingly large number of people actually smoke. I vape at my desk discretely, but I do step outside when it's nice. I've handed out at least 5 cards when they showed some curiosity, only one has made the change and he's now an avid vaper. If I can help at least one get away from a far more dangerous habit, I consider it a success.

i work in a team of 4 people. i used have my usual smoke breaks, but when i bought my kit last week, i notified my boss, who sits behind me, that if he sees some smoke coming from side he shouldnt worry as i have quit cigarettes and started something alot more healthy.

he said 'cool with me' LOL

so i think education here is key, so present your case based to educate those you presenting to.

good luck

also emphasize the fact that their is no stink

This

Work for large health insurance company, smokers have to go on the street/off property, vaping is not allowed in the buildings but neither are a lot of other things. I work from home though...so I also should probably slow my roll.

Thinking like a nonsmoking co-worker, I'd much rather smell a faint aroma of carmel apple than an ash tray. That's the angle i'd try if I was questioned about it.

I actually am in manufacturing as well and vape on the sales floor all day. I know the CEO directly and this may be why I do not have any issues but I can see why this would be a problem if you are not close with the big guys.

Personally I bake out the sales floor but everyone here smokes so no one cares. If there were any non smokers around i think there would be some major issues...

I'm fortunate enough to work in an office of anything goes - this goes from swearing to vaping, no real issues with work however I get more "whats that" questions than complaints. As long as it has no smell and is legal, they are not bothered.

Same here, I guess we are the lucky ones. I bake out the office and the CEO walks in and pretends he doesn't see anything. He's a non-smoker, never touched a cigarette ever yet i somehow convinced him to take a drag and he claimed that he got a head rush (I guess 24mg is strong for someone who never touched them).
