Vaping At Work

Hi everybody,

This is my first post here and my ecig has not even come in the mail yet so please excuse my naivety.

I ordered an ego-c twist with a 6ml 510 dctank cartomizer. It should arrive tomorrow.

I start a new job soon which I will be outside for the most of the day moving around. I am starting to worry that my set up might be to large to carry in my pocket comfortably.

So i have a few questions; is the tank able to be removed from the battery and kept separate in my pocket without having to worry about it leaking? Is there another type of tank I should look at to save space in my pocket? and finally, is there a pocket friendly case? (the ones from ego seem too large to fit comfortably in pockets)

Get a lanyard. It is the best way to carry a twist. I have been using one for a year now (among other things). The threading can be damaged or break off in your pocket still assembled. Get you another battery as soon as you can, with a back up tank as well, and a few extra cartridges.

There are some much smaller tanks you can use, something like an iClear 16, Kanger T2, T3. I find my eGo twist 1000mAh and iClear 16 fit in my pocket quite nicely. 6mL tank is pretty big lol. I have an iClear 30 which is 3mL and it's quite a bit heavier and larger, a little uncomfortable. You definitely know it's there.

You shouldn't have any issues with portability, or rather pocketability. The tank can definitely be removed and kept separately and should not leak if the drip tip is connected. I would recommend the kanger evod for a second tank, In my experience it is more durable than a carto tank, and it looks a bit sleeker as well. For a case I would recommend a small flashlight belt pouch.

The EVOD is a nice back up choice. I use them and they are tough, reliable, and make a quality vape.

Bottom coil clearos like evods and such are not pocket friendly. Temperature changes can push liquids out the bottom easier and they just leak easier than top coils by design. Vivi nova minis don't leak as easy unless left on their side too long could cause the coil to flood and some come out the bottom. As others said a lanyard solves most issues with the different tanks if its something that you can use at work.

I use both top coil and bottom coil but only use the top coils while at work in my pocket and have had one minor issues where I had to push the ego top back in after it got hit hard and the top was a little crooked not totally out. Still works perfect and was the only issues as of yet.

a flashlight holder sounds like a good idea. i don't know how i would feel about a lanyard- seems like it would only get in the way.

in my mind i see myself taking it apart every time i use it and just leaving the battery in one pocket by itself and finding some sort of small case or protection for the tank in my other pocket since i now realize it won't leak on its own.

6 ml and a 1,000 mah battery should last a 10 hour work day right? (i smoke half a pack/ day at the moment.)

Yes, but you need a backup. This cannot be stressed enough! Back up everything. Devices fail, you have to be ready.

Your device is 98 mm long and your cartomizer is 45 mm long. In total it's 143 mm. My Smoktech The Natural Mod is 108 mm long and RSST atomizer together with the custom drip is 63 mm long. In total it's 171 mm. I put it in the front pocket of my Wrangler jeans together with Nokia C2-01 and it fits perfectly. The phone causes that the device is stabilized on the side of the pocket so it doesn't look too provocative if you understand what I mean. So it seems you don't have to worry and you can put your device into a pocket. Of course I know nothing about your pockets so I may be wrong.

Ya you really need a second battery just in case of anything. Also vaping and smoking might be similar but are different and most start out vaping allot more than they smoked just to give you a bit of warning.

I carry a Smok Zmax topped with a 22mm standard carto tank (3ml capacity) in my shirt pocket all day. If I am doing a lot of climbing in/out of trailers I slip it into my pants pocket. It is surprisingly rugged.

My backup device is a KGO Mega VV 1200 with a couple of Kanger T2's as backup juice delivery. (Just in case a tank does shatter next time it lands on the steel decking, so far I have been lucky)

Always carry a backup that will get you through the day!!

5 minutes before leaving for work I realized I forgot (DUH!! Me) to charge my 18650 last night. I was in a rush so my main ADV (Green Apple Ice) only had about 2ml in the primary tank. I am 200 miles from my juice supply 100% on my backup system.

Did I mention ALWAYS carry a backup that will get you through the day? !!

I carry a simple ego t with a standard ce4 clearomizer. Small enough to fit in my pocket

My husband does kitchen maintenance and has an iClear 16 on an eGo batt. It fits in his shirt pocket with only the tip visible. His backup and juice stay in his office. As many have mentioned backups are important. I have 2 iClear 16s and 3 batts, plus 2-3 juices on me at all times. That plus my charge cord fit in a case I got from my local vape shop.

Second vote for the lanyard. If your work requires a lot of bending and stooping so it would dangle in your way, just slip it inside your shirt or shirt pocket. That way, the lanyard protects you from accidental drops, while keeping your works handy.

After many weeks of successful pocket carries, I managed to break an eGo batt in the front pocket of my jeans ... when I sat down, the angle of pressure was just right to snap the top threaded section right off and leave it dangling on the attached clearo. (If one were handy with a soldering iron, it probably could have been put back together, but that's not me.) I had resisted the lanyard until then, but that made me give it a try. Now, it's second nature.

If you are worried about portability you should check out the erolls. There is quite a few positive reviews floating around for it. And the pv is about the size of a standard analog and the case is the size of a avg smartphone. :smile:

Just another vote for a back up setup to keep with you even just in the glove box, lunch box, or some other out of the way place. I think of it this way ... I always carried a spare lighter or matches or made sure I at least had a car lighter around just in case before I quit analogs ... In this one way vaping is similar to analogs. If you don't have it ... you WILL need it.

Never used a lanyard as I quickly went from my ego batteries to a vamo with vivi nova atomizer ... but I do like the battery holder idea. Will have to see if I can find one that would be long enough for my set up.

I would put in a second vote for an eRoll. If you were only half a pack a day smoker, you may find it a decent solution. I started with the eGo and clearo and love it but sometimes pocketability is important. I bought an eRoll for that express purpose. I have used it for a couple days in a row during the day and come back to my eGo at night. Worked well. The PCC case is smaller than an iPhone and fits easily in a pocket. You have to figure out how to carry a few filled cartos but they fit decently in a TicTac box. For a cig-a-like, they produce a good vape!

If I were going to be out and about all day, I would probably use either a T3s or and evod. I'd pack a juice bottle, or UCan. Personally, I have not experienced any leaking problems with the evod or MT3s, and bottom coils suit me better than the vivi's, but that's just a personal preference. It's much easier to whip an evod out of your pocket and vape it because it is a bottom coil. The vivi's are position dependent and require tilting from time to time to stay perfectly wicked. I like the vape on the vivi, but the position dependence, or risk a dry hit, annoyed me after a while, again, just me. obviously a smaller form factor is going to be more portable than a larger one. Anyway, my two cents. Good luck, happy shopping and vape on!

I take a Gripper, 650 twist and 450 mini ego to work w/ me. . The gripper is my go to. I use a Vivi Nova mini on either or all of them but you can top them with anything 510 you want. They are rugged, small, fit in jeans or shirt pocket and inconspicuous if you wanna be....
