Warning - vaping Life Story Ahead!

So about 4 months ago I started my vape journey with a v2 kit as a x-mas gift from my gf. One failed attempt @vaping and 2 packs of Marlboros later I jumped into vaping committed. With ECF and a old-school vaping co-worker as my resources I delved into this deep and wide movement and haven't looked back. 2 months in I was able to get 5 new people into vaping and help 2 get back to vaping at my workplace. You should have seen the clouds of vapor! We hot boxed the entire first floor on any given day - alas good things never last...HR caught wind of all the PG & VG (see what I did there) and sent out a memo amending the smoking policy to include electronic cigarettes.

Immediately, there was a mass dropout rate. Myself and 3 other people are the only ones vaping exclusively now. Maybe i shouldn't have puffed rings in front of the security cameras?

Vaperers keep on vaping!

its the same thing at my work i have to go outside to vape :(

It sucks to have to be back outside with the rest of those lepers!

It feels so redundant..

"oh no it smells like delicious waffles in here..out with ye knave! "

Salt to the wounds SB 648 was voted favorably in Sacramento, CA recently - hopefully it gets clogged up in the good ol' American Justice System!

I work shifts mostly so at nights and things it doesn't really matter if you vape in the office or not, I'm not aware of any current formal policy against it, can you guys not just do it in the toilets or when no one is looking etc? the vaper disappears in a second and doesn't smell ^^

Oh I'm ninja vaping def! In editing suites / audio booth/ under my desk/ on my throne (lemon drop does wonders for the mens bathroom!)

But still go outside for my 5-10min vape sessions..
The only upside - i'm saving on juice since i can't chain-vape at my desk!

I'm thinking they felt you all were becoming a distraction. Also, Vaping is snot productive and frowned upon by most companies that understand time loss.
the company I work for has everything calculated to the minute for per person production. Run to the rest room and your behind for the day.

I had a similar experience. Converted ten of my coworkers to vaping and we respectfully used the PVs at our desks for six months. After six months apparently some of the non smokers complained to HR about smelling strawberries and waffles, vaping is now restricted to the smoking areas. Unfortunately without the convenience of being able to use them inside half my converts eventually went back to cigarettes. Its sad. The company will ultimately lose money from these employees taking additional sick days because of their short sighted and uneducated decision.

I hear ya - traditional corporate policies - which I laugh in the face of , these hypocritical policies cause employees to spend more time avoiding work then to be more productive, but that's a whole nother topic!

Besides all the non-vapers have their candy crushes/facebook/youtube and other weapons of mass distraction why can't we have ours!
-end rant-

Just saying...
But yea I do need more sunlight/fresh airs as the weather is getting much nicer these days!

Fortunately I work from home. I did however run into a problem at the school my husband teaches at. Apparently (according to the principal) I am not allowed to vape sitting in MY car in the parking lot while waiting for my husband. Smoking however is fine. Her reasoning? My ego-C battery with a CE5 on it looked too much like a crack pipe.

My 18yr old high school senior son was just given a 3 day out of school for getting caught with a pen style at school. When I talked to the principal and told him it was not a tobacco product and did not contain any nicotine he said maybe they need to revise their policy to include e cigs and that he was not OK with him having it there (Well DUHHH). I told him my son was using it to quit smoking and was surprised when he in so many words sounded like if we had contacted him upfront he could have worked something out. I took that to mean using it in the nurses office a few times a day or something. It did contain nic but I so did not want to deal with the make up work from a 3 day suspension so I lied. I told him that he was using 0 nic e cigs to help him stay off real cigs. My son skipped 10 min of class so many times to go out and smoke that I bought the pen styles just to keep him from skipping parts of class. Please don't leave me any holier than thou comments about my son vaping and before that smoking. I have tried everything I could to make him quit ever since I found out he smoked at age 15 only to keep catching him smoking or find cigs in his room. He always been a headstrong boy but he is my son and I still want what is best for him. I told him when I hung up with the principal that he has now turned me into a big fat liar. I cannot wait for graduation!

I don't think it's legal to force a non-smoker to be in the same room as smokers so why is it legal for your employer to force you (a non-smoker) into close proximity with damaging and irritating cigarette smoke?

It isn't..at least in California - the only official law against vaping is selling to minors.

Unfortunately, property owners prevail therefore they can makes rules and enforce as they see fit-like if everybody had to dress up like chickens otherwise we could face termination they could by law rightfully do so...well maybe not, but you know what I mean!

It's the same here in the uk. Someone in the office complained that they are not allowed an analogue cig that release carcinogens into the air,so a memo sent out saying someone was allergic to the vapour ?? Immediate ban,so stealth vaping it is haha :)

None here...
Wish my mum gave me an ego T when I was in high school instead of having to smoke in the bathroom with rest of the delinquents!
