That's right, I said it.

$16-$20 a bottle for decent juice? This is getting out of control. That's between 52 and 66 cents per ml. At 3-6ml per day, juice alone can cost nearly as much as a pack of cigarettes. Well, at least half as much in most places.

If vaping is less dangerous than smoking, certainly it will end up costing more than smoking. That's business. It's not there yet, but it sure seems to be going in that direction.

I'm beginning to feel as ripped off and addicted as I did with smoking, as I'm paying more and more for something that provides no real benefit. It's like paying for television. I can't believe people, myself included, pay a business money to primarily be the subject of marketing.

Today, my pay television is going. Next, I need to start more carefully considering my vaping habit. Just a simple cost-benefit analysis. It's not easy, one can start to feel like a major idiot when considering how much money we shell out for things that provide us no real benefit and it some cases the opposite.

A nation of addicts from food to drugs to entertainment.

Dude if you are paying $16-$20 for a 30ml bottle of juice you are getting ripped off. MtBakerVapor has great juice and sells 30ml bottles for $7.50-$8.50 each. I just bought 236ml of my all day juice for $40. That equates to about $0.17 per ml or about $1.00 day vaping 6ml/day ($0.50/day vaping 3ml).

Head over to the DIY juice forum and start researching. You can make your own juice for pennies a ml. I haven't bought but maybe a dozen bottles of juice in 1 1/2 years. :)

I just started DIY, but I have the equipment, flavorings, etc to make 600 ml of juice for $70.00 (11.67 cents per ml). And that was buying the equipment. If I was just buying the juice and flavorings, I could do it for half that.

I certainly haven't saved ANY money by quitting smoking. Have some really good mods and atomizers and the like - and - DON'T CARE. I DON'T SMOKE. Since late January (when I quit smoking almost 2ppd) my body has gone through an amazing transformation - I...don't get tired - hell...ever? I didn't know that damage that was being done by stinkies because it was so gradual - now I know.
I can't put a price on it - I like the cool toys and the hobby - I don't smoke - so - I could care less what I spend.

10 bucks for 30 ml at 3ml consumption a day is 1 buck a day, 5 buck clearo lasts 1 month at 15 cents a day, charger 5 bucks same as clearo amounts, 2 egoc batts 40 bucks last 6 months is 22 cents a day so....

1.00 liquid a day
.15 clearo
.15 charger
.22 batts
Total 1.52 per day Vapeing. Smoking 12.00 per day

Hmmmm seems I'm saving money.

I have only bought liquid that is normally $20/30ml. I get 10% off for buying quantity.
I also have what people consider an expensive kit and I think the attys are expensive for how long they generally last.
I seem to be saving money, and that's compared to generics priced before the last $1/pk tax increase.

If I start wrapping coils, DIY liquid and using replaceable batteries I'll be saving a ton.

(edit)
The money spent below is up to date and I have about 20 weeks of liquid, over 3 months of attys and at least 6 months of batteries. (/edit)

Vaping CAN be more expensive than smoking. But once you get what you NEED and don't do anything except to upgrade when you can afford it, even expensive mods can be less than smoking. It's all the buying stuff in excess for excess prices you have to watch out for.
I spent $1,400 the first two months. that is $700/month! I smoked a pipe at $74/mo for tobacco and bought about 3 pipes a year. my total cost was less than $1000/year. I went way overboard, and will not be in the green until June 2014 if I can avoid going overboard again.

Most people these days spend about $240/mo which is $2,880/yr on Cigarettes. Unfortunately unless you are willing to make you own epipes, they tend to be more expensive than other PVs, but that is the way things are. :)

Juice can be expensive that's why I DIY it cost me around $1.60 a 60ml bottle give or take a few ¢ depending on how many flavors go in my mix. I rebuild all my atomizers and wick and wire is cheap, 18650, 18490 and 18350 batteries seem to last more then a year. so I figure my maintenance cost for vaping is under $10 a month vs $366 for smoking. I feel very frugal :)

You can spend big bucks if you shop the wrong vendors. My favorite juice is $8.99 for 19ml (16ml bottle with a free 3ml sample of your choice). What I vape mostly is Dekang RY4. It's $10.99 for 50ml from Madvapes or Hoosiers.

Complaining about expensive juice is like complaining about the price of steak. It depends on where you buy it. Shop carefully and the price drops significantly.

This year, I will spend less than $100 to vape compared to over $2,000 to smoke.

Last year, I spent $400 to vape vs $2,000 to smoke.

The year before that, I spent $2,000 to vape vs $2,000 to smoke. Part of this was stocking up on PV's and cartos which I still have a huge supply of. I also invested time in learning to make my own juice which enabled me to vape for pennies per ml.
