Hehe.. That is normal chain vaping. I had to cut my nic down because I was getting too much. A normal 1300 mah battery lasts me 6 hours on average.
It's much cheaper for me, a pack of smokes was $9.25, for the cheapy ones, i've spending 1/4 of what I did smoking
umm... I do a little more ml than HyperRealist, but my 2000mah 18650 last me only 4 or 5 hours. The 3400mah last maybe 8 or 9 hours only.
If you take up collecting parts as a hobby, I can see it being more expensive (possibly still cheaper though depending on how many packs a day). However even considering equipment costs, unless you were an under a pack a day smoker and you became a heavy vaper, I don't see how it gets more expensive.
I feel you....but the truth for me was I just stopped caring as much about it, I like my stuff, I buy some here and there but it's not some all consuming thing that I just have to do....I think with time, experience, you find what works and stick with it...it's all really simplified for me now after the trial and error....
I mean I'm still OCD on it but it's in the mild stages....

Vaping doesn't have to be expensive. Once you get a couple mods you're happy with and a few rba's you like, the costs tend to settle down. But the key to saving money is just that, get to your happy place with your gear. Building your own coils and making your own juice is where the real savings is. Once you stop shelling out the $$ for disposable atties and pre mixed juice you have a lot left over to find the right gear. Another key is using the classifieds on ecf and other sites. Don't throw anything away. The resale value of a used mod or rba is probly better than you think. I spent a year trying stuff out and if i didn't like it, it went in a box. After a year i looked in the box and realized if i got rid of that stuff I'd have enough to get something pretty nice, so i got myself verified here and now i have a couple really nice mods that i didn't really have to pay too much out of pocket for! I have a brand new precise ELA and a brand new Reo Grande on the way to me which I paid about $50 each for out of pocket after I sold off some used atties and mods. Ever tried to sell a used cigarette?
Another way to save money with vaping is through will power! Don't get "shineyitis" aka the need to purchase the latest and greatest gadget to hit the market. Make a list of what features you want in a mod/atty and DO YOUR RESEARCH!! Find one that not only looks good to you, but fits those criteria! If you always settle for something cheap instead of saving for something good you won't ever be satisfied with what you have. I'm not saying everyone has to spend a ton of money on a mod to be happy with it, but if all you get are ego's and cig style and think vaping isn't worth it, maybe it's time to sell some ego's and get a Vamo or a kts. Neither of those would break the bank, both are good for an intro mod, and both can be resold when it's time to upgrade.
The "start up cost" of vaping I'd much higher than the startup cost of cigarettes, but the maintenance cost of your vape is next to nothing once you do 3 things: 1. Build your own coils 2. Make your own juice, and 3. Get happy with your gear!

I've been quit for 121 days and have saved over $110 even with factoring in all my gear including the recent purchase of a used Provari.

I know im not saving anything, I maybe had 20 cigs a yr. that being said I have been using my 5ml tank on the same jiuce since last week I think. my 1.6ml clearo's usually last me a week.
also mnt baker has 30ml bottles for like $7 and they taste pretty good paid $20 for 2 30ml bottles with shipping

I used to spend 200 a month on cigs. Its been 3 weeks without cigs and purely vaping. I feel better but financially im not happy. I have spent about 220 in these 3 weeks. Un realiable clearomizers and not finding that all day vape juice. I feel like i have wasted so much money and i have yet to see the saving. I do realize its the first month and i have to get settled first but damn this sucks. Sometimes i get negative thought on how cigs were way more practical because of my current issues. I just hope my luck changes.

Buying too many things, some people are. I have settled on 2 mods that I use exclusively and 2 clearomizers that I use exclusively. Now I am down to buying 5 packs of replacement coils and juices every so often and I am no where near spending the same amount of cash as I did smoking and that is WITHOUT DIYing anything.

Cigarettes aren't more practical. It's easy to sit on them, squash them, get them wet - the thing is most people have used them for a long time and have become adept at use, transportation etc..
Try not to spend too much time searching for the holy grail. If you find something that is good enough though not spectacular stick with it for a bit. Don't go for the luxury end of everything. Once vaping settles into a routine you'll be happier and spending less. If you turn it into a hobby you'll spend more.
Well, if you are a compulsive spender, then yes... it can be expensive. If you stick to one PV rig with a few spare batteries and have some damn self control with your vaping habits, it's not expensive at all.
I've done the math for myself. It's going to save me around $100/month. I use less than $2 of juice per day, vs over $5 in cigarettes before that. If you go from smoking half a pack a day to vaping CONSTANTLY you'll break even (at least in Oregon). And from what I understand, cigarette prices on the east coast are generally much higher.
I've been vaping for a month now. With recent price increases, if I were still smoking, I would be paying about $275 US per month on cigarettes, minimum. Yes, I have most likely spent my smoking budget for this month, but I have equipment that makes me happy, with backups, and backups for the backups, and enough liquid for about 6 months. Today I decided that I can now relax. I'm going to be OK. My panic at finding myself "without" can now subside.
I've been calculating my vaping budget in terms of "= X number of packages of cigarettes". My FT iTaste VV is worth about 6-7 packages of cigarettes, or about 4-5 days of smoking. It has already been working beautifully for 2 days or 3-4 packs. If it lasts the weekend, a reasonable assumption since I am a careful old lady, it will have paid for itself.
It's true I'd love a backup iTaste VV battery, and maybe another charging cable, and maybe a.... but in reality I have the great feeling that it's good. I can just settle back and vape while I do something else!
