Well I will start by saying I'm a distance runner. And was doing that even while smoking. About 20 miles a week or so.

At first, the coughing did get much worse especially after a run, i'd have these fits of coughing and I'd have to lay off the vaping for a good 30 minutes after I was done running.

But after about 6 weeks, this all went away. I do have some coughing still when I vape too often. Like taking 20 puffs inside of 3 minutes maybe. This usually only happens to me in the morning as I'm trying to up the nic level in my body. Even then its nothing like the smoker's coughing I did.

Wheezing will go away, hacking up snot or mucus will go away also. You won't have a persistent cough but if you hit your PV too often, yes it's going to cause some coughing.

Yep my wife has noticed my smoker's cough has disappeared. Vaping has also given me a new outlook on exercising. Used to be into all kinds of sports and am now re discovering the joy I once knew because my lung capacity has increased drastically...one of the main reasons I stopped being active. Funny thing too I never noticed smoker's cough but now am aware when I hear smoker's cough. Gotta control myself cuz at that moment I feel like sticking a PV in their face. Instead I just pull out my PV and start vaping/ lead by example.

Mine has completely gone too.
It was the wheezing, hacking, breathlessness and coughing that made me give up the stinkies.
I sounded like an old beat up accordion!!
I had the mother of all coughs about a week after I gave up and then that went away and I have none of the respiratory effects.
Once the cilia have had a chance to grow back they will start working as they should and prevent all the bad stuff getting into the lungs.

Surprisingly after over 35 years of smoking I didn’t have a bad smoker’s cough.
I did have to clear my throat often, had wheezing when exhaling, and snored.

Within 2 weeks of being analog free, I clear my throat MUCH less often, don’t wheeze, and my wife happily reports I no longer snore.

I’m a road cyclist, and find that I’m riding much stronger.
Count me as a happy camper.

I've only been vaping exclusively for about 2 1/2 weeks or so, but I've noticed much less wheezing and coughing, and I seem to have more energy and stamina already. My wife tells me I do not cough in my sleep anymore either.

I had quit cold turkey about 10 years ago, which lasted 3 years, and from what I remember, I had similar results at about this time, which continued to improve for several months.

Hope this helps.

I've been vaping about 3 1/2 months now. Previous to this I had smoked for 40+ years.
My cough disappeared after about one week. After reading your question I realized that I haven't noticed myself wheezing for quite some time, and it was something that I had had quite bad for at least the last 10 years. I cannot say when it went away though.
One thing I have noticed is that my ability to smell has improved a lot. There is a smoking porch at a hostel for out of town hospital patients that I pass on my way to work and I can smell it from more than a block away unless the wind is blowing strong in the opposite direction!

I used to cough constantly, especially in the mornings I had to go outside and hack up a bunch of phlegm while I gagged on it. Over two months now it is all gone. I had a loud wheeze when I exhaled hard and that is completely gone. I have much more energy. Sometimes I have to clear my throat but some of that has to do with dehydration. I'm still getting used to the fact that I have to drink more water since PG and VG will dry you out.

My smokers cough went away after about 2 months. I had smoked the stinkies for 23 years. My smell was always good. But slowly got a little better over time. My e juices have to be very lightly flavored, or they are too strong. :) Makes DIY cheaper for me. One thing I did not know, as a noob, the PG e juices were really tearing up my throat. Made it quite raw. Like when you get strep throat. Fixed that by making a 70PG/30VG blend on all my mixes. Good luck to you!

I've only been off of the cigarettes for about a month, and I think I'm actually coughing more. The mucous is tinged with black specks, and I read that it was the body expelling the built up tar in the lungs. Although I hope it stops eventually, I take comfort in the thought that my lungs are cleaning themselves out.

Mine was especially bad. I was 19 when I started smoking, and shortly after was informed of something. My mother has a sort of lung disease where her lungs don't produce some sort of enzyme needed, and better yet, it's hereditary. At 40, the doctor told her that she had the lungs of a 90 year old woman, and that if she didn't quit smoking, she would die. Now, once a week, she has a nurse come to her house and insert an IV into her arm for treatments. So, at 20 now, hadn't been smoking for more than a few months, I was waking up nearly every night, hacking and nearly vomiting. I tried to tell myself that I was just getting sick, but that wasn't the case. Started vaping shortly after, and within a few days, everything completely cleared up, like magic.
