I haven't tried vaping indoors in public yet. I actually enjoy stepping outside to vape. I enjoy the fresh air.

Even while I'm at home I'll often step outside.

Mainly just because I find it more satisfying to mimic smoking. I feel like I'm doing what I used to do, so it feels natural to me.

This is a totally opposite approach than I have taken. I really wanted to quit analogs for some time and couldn't handle cold turkey... my cardiologist was downright ...... in January when I saw him for my yearly. I guess I needed it for motivation.

Every part of my approach to vaping is opposite the way I approached my analogs. I dig that I can vape in my apartment, at work (i haven't been told not to :2cool:), in non-smoking cars and the list can go on forever. Whereas I do like the fresh air thing.... and its actually fresh, it never was before when I was going outside to smoke an analog every 45 minutes... I have found it helpful to detatch from my personal and social habits that surrounded my smoking. It's 23 degrees here at the moment... if I were in Orlando it might be nice to step out for a quick vape, but I will keep warm, thank you. I used to live in Bradenton, FL about 6 years ago... I miss the Tampa Bay climate, and lightening, and fishing daily on the Gulf.

One thing I haven't done though, is empty the ashtray full of butts in my car. In a way I feel proud that it hasn't pushed me a bit back toward analogs. I still find myself enjoying the smell of burning tobacco but haven't wanted to taste it for a second. It was nasty even when I used to say i "enjoyed" smoking.

That being said, I understand that we are all going to have different ways of going about our quit regiments for kicking tobacco. I'm as proud of you as I am of anyone else for quiting analogs regardless of your methods. Good job!

My place of work unfortunately already has E-cig and Vaping in their "not allowed" policy. We also have to still pay the smokers rate for health insurance. We can't even vape outside anywhere on the property. One fellow employee was out in the parking lot smoking a analog and was just putting it out, the HR person saw this and immediately terminated his employment. I have no doubt they would do the same for vaping. Sucks but at least i'm in the delivery department and can get out of the zoo.

Holy crap! I thought my place of employment resembled a death camp... i guess there are a lot worse out there. There is no "smokers rate" for our insurance, but I am sure that is a regionally controlled thing. I'm surprised really that there isn't, NY was the first to have a smoking ban in public places. I work for a small company, 30 people total between front end and production. We do about $5-6 million in sales/year in Large Format Digital Print. I'm one of 8 people on the production crew to support the sales in our main facility and I'm pretty sure I will be able to work it out even if there are issues at the start. They certainly won't terminate my employment over it

My favourite pub flatly said 'NO' when I even mentioned it, I might email them and educate them a little bit. But my second favourite pub... totally OK with it, good times.

The only gigs I've had so far with the band since I've been vaping have been in small dive bars... I love playing these shows as they actually pay us versus the club gigs, which a door split with 4 or 5 bands is usually pretty low and doesn't cover the gas in our '79 Chevy Full Sized Conversion w/ 6'x10' trailer. I have had no issues in these places, but coming up I have shows in small/medium sized clubs (some are real classy) and one in an arena at a college campus (on my 30th birthday!). I imagine these will be my first experiences with being told no, if I have any at all.

I vape next to my boss bc our desks are side by side and he could care less! I work at an high end car dealership too. But if customers happen to stroll in the showroom, i put it away bc its respectful. Currently on 2 months and not 1 cig!! Its worked great for me. But i believe in two things, you have to put it in your mind to quit real cigs and have a good PV that performs

i live in NYC where almost no one owns cars so we new yorkers tend to spend a lot of time walking in the street and i have to admit i feel sort of awkward vaping. my ecigs all have LED light ups which tend to attract attention and just look dorky. i also feel like it looks like i'm smoking mary-jane out of a pipe or one hitter, so i tend to stealth vape. i put black end caps on my e-cigs and take drags as i walk around.
i think i just need to get used to it. i enjoy vaping, i'm out in public often and i figure i'll eventually loose the self consciousness as it becomes as ingrained in my life as tobacco cigarettes once did.

I will vape almost anywhere and everywhere. I will vape in the library and all around campus but not during classes or in my supervisor's office. I will vape in bars but always stealthing inside unless the bartender has said its cool to do it openly. Occasionally I'll be asked questions and I can see a lot of confused faces as I walk around campus but I wont hide away too much. I figure if it becomes more normalised, more smokers might think to take it up, rather than smoking. In the wider world, I'm funny about using my PV in airconditioned places, or on some forms of public transport. The air conditioning would make it almost impossible to stealth and on something like the underground in London I wouldn't want people getting the wrong idea and freaking out!x

The hospital where I work they caught me once and they gave me a card to see a counselor from HR, they give you the option to select at no charge to you the gum, patch, nicotine pill etc but if you want to really quit if you continue they can terminate your employment.

Like I said before, I did ask one of the HR people and I am still waiting for an answer, and I now 1 nurse who also vapes in the hospital.

Learn to enjoy the attention. Whenever i walk around with my PV and see smokers approaching, i whip my vape out, blow clouds and clouds of vapor as i walk past and smirk at their wide eyes and dropping jaws. Especially if im vaping some nice smelling juice like Boba's Bounty, i can actually hear them sniffing the vapor and try to guess what the hell it was.

I'm pretty comfortable with walking around vaping my cig-a-likes in public. Like someone said in a earlier reply, the most I'll get is a "hey, is that one of those electronic cigarettes?". I also prefer them when I'm behind the wheel (an automatic battery is one less thing to worry about while driving in New Jersey).

I figure the next step for me is getting comfortable with using my eGo Twist out in the open. I guess my fear is that the larger PV might be mistaken as drug paraphernalia. I kinda wish one of the bigger eCig companies would advertise the larger PVs like the cig-a-likes. Could you imagine seeing a billboard for an eVic with a carto tank on it..?

I vape everywhere.

I don't stealth vape.

I use big, "sore thumb" devices (Provari with Carto Tank or an Empire clone).

There are a lot of people who give me odd looks and probably think I'm doing drugs, especially the people who see me do it around cops. No Police Officer has ever said anything…but the people who see me vaping and cops in the same place look like they're expecting something to happen.

And I don't mind talking to people at all……but it doesn't happen that often.
