I have no problems vaping in public however i would use a smaller cig for doing so and not something that looks like i consturcted it from pieces of my cars exhaust . I would also vape inside buildings too but to be honest i would always ask first as although it's not illegal the staff and owners can and do reserve the right to refuse anyone service .

Whether you understand it or not, I think you'll make people around you more uncomfortable, if you look like you're smoking a cigarette. You do yourself and the rest of us no good, if people perceive you as someone that's just trying to get around the no smoking rules.

I think the boxes, the Provari style and the ego/gogo styles are best for public use but that's JMO

Agreed maybe thats why i always go for the black with blue tip ecigs. Like i said i wouldn't do it in a place where the management objected and i don't have the "well it's legal to do it wherever i want" attitude. Me personally i would like to see more shops and cafe's go for the vapers welcome approach. That's just my 2 cents.

I vape where and when I want. Bars and restaurants have the right to not serve me and that is their right but it has never happened. As for "get around the smoking rules", I'm not smoking so if they have a problem too bad for them. When confronted by a rude non smoker I am just as rude to them as they were to me and I continue with my day with not another thought about it. I was a militant pro smoker and I'm just as militant about vaping. If you don't like it or are some how offended by something you know nothing about, and has no impact on you then go pound sand. However I have alway been nice to people who want to know what it is and are polite about it.

I personally don't try to hide my PV in public places but I don't usually walk around in a cloud of vapor either. When discretion seems the better choice, I am discreet and stealth vape with my black 510 or not at all. We are in a transitional period when anti-smoking sentiment is at an all-time high and PVs are still virtually unknown to the masses. We must tread a fine line unfortunately. Courtesy counts here - A belligerent attitude isn't gonna win us any brownie points either with the public at large or with lawmakers.

If someone should happen to ask what it is I'm smoking, I will explain to the best of my ability and emphasize that I am not "smoking" anything. To date, I've never been scoffed at once they have been informed. Reactions range from total disinterest to mild enthusiasm or acceptance.

There is one area, however, that I avoid like the plague...DESIGNATED SMOKING AREAS. I don't want to be seen vaping there, with or without other smokers around. It simply lumps us into the category of tobacco smokers in people's minds...and that is counter-productive to our cause. Plus I smell like a stinky cigarette again. Gahhh! If I feel the need to espouse the benefits of PVs with other smokers, I pick another place. So, bottom line, if I'm vaping in public, I intentionally do it AWAY from these areas.

I vape pretty much anywhere and I haven't had a problem. If you ever ordered from V4L they give you little cards you can hand out that explains what vaping is and that it is *not* smoke, nor is it illegal to use it inside. I've only had to use it once at a bar. Bartender came by saw that I was vaping, gave me a confused look and said something along the lines of "I don't think you're allowed to do that here..." so I handed her the card and a few minutes later the owner came buy asking me how he could start getting into vaping, lol.

I try to be concenscious and polite with my vaping BC that's how I roll as a person ;) But this weekend I had a problem with a bunch of small town hicks at a camp site. Instead of saying something / anything to me over a 4 day period, I had about 15 people from the camp telling everyone that would listen I was "Smoking drugs" in front of the children in camp :( :( And yes it being a super small town where all my dreaded in laws live the rumors caught on like wild fire. Finally when I heard about this as I was leaving I explained it to someone but they didn't buy it. Screw what others think!

I had a bad reaction to the disposable Red Dragon I picked up, so I'm off vaping until my 401 and VG come. I did, however, get a chance to freak out a young employee at Home Depot. I was vaping as I walked from the car and continued to do so as I got to the door. An employee saw me smoking a "cigarette" as I approached the door, so of course he got that "Is he really gonna walk into the store with that?" look on his face. I noticed him looking at me, so I just smiled and did my best Gomez Addams as I slid the "lit cigarette" into my pocket on my way through the door. He had no idea what how that was possible, and I went on my merry way without offering a clue.

I didn't take the opportunity to educate him. I'm new to this and I'm going to have fun with it while it's fresh:evil:

When my black/blue 401 batteries get here, I won't be able to pass it off as an anolog. So there's no need to chastise me. By the way, we need a Home Depot/Lowe's version of this :firefox:

I'm new to vaping ... and new to this forum ... and I have to admit I'm (sometimes) self-concious about vaping in public. I think that's due to the last, what, 20, 30, 40+ years of smokers being looked down on and made to feel like second-class citizens if not criminals. If we're going to stop that same attitude before it starts, I believe we have to educate those vocal nonsmokeinistas who would ban vaping before they really know anything about it. To do that I suggest two things:

1.) We stop worrying about where we vape. We retain a very polite, educational attitude and patiently explain that it is not a cigarette, it is not smoke, and the vapor they see is 99% water--no more harmful than the vapor they breath opening the freezer door. Don't hide vaping, that won't spread the word and make it "more commonplace". But don't let the nonsmokinistas make you lose your temper. Let them be rude and crude while you stay cool (or chocolate or whatever your flavor is); others around you will notice.

2.) We stop calling them electronic cigarettes or e-cigs. That just reinforces the connection between cigarettes and vaping in everyone's minds. I say we start calling them vapor sticks and completely separate ourselves from cigarette smoking in their minds ... and in our own, since most of us seem to be vaping as a healthier alternative to smoking.

So far I feel comfortable vaping many places that I wouldnt smoke a cig. I love that aspect of it.The other day I was in the dugout at my daughters softball game and I was afraid some of the stiffie type parents might think I was somekind of monster.
People where we live are so behind the times that they would probably think I was smoking a crack pipe or something. I sure have had some grannies look at me like I was. I took it to Church with me the other day, kind of on accident,I meant to leave it in the car. But when I was inside I felt it in my pocket and I thought " no - I better not " If I am not at church or my daughters dugout I feel pretty normal vaping myself, other than a few funny looks. But I think they are just trippin on my Ego Tank becuase they know not what it is. I only quit smoking 1 month ago and I'm so happy about that I dont care if I get a few granny stares.

If it was a Catholic church, good call. Anything that draws attention to yourself is frowned upon during services. Perhaps a good rule for vaping is to avoid doing it anywhere it would be frowned upon to have a beverage

Hey there, I'm a granny! I don't stare, I just glare at all the low-riding idiots and the "coughers"!

I'm dang proud of quitting a 40+ year smoking habit. I don't flaunt it but I won't be quiet about it either! I carry CASAA business cards with me everywhere I go.

When I got my first e-cig, I went to the kitchen and was about to open the window to vape lol. It was like a reflex. It was strange at first to vape inside, but I got used to it. As in public, I vape in my college and classes all the time, but I also go outside to vape with my smoker friends sometimes, to keep them company :)
