I was at the bar a week ago and the bouncer told me to stop smoking. I quickly corrected him and said it's vapor bro. I go here a lot and I know him, but he said he know. The reason he said is people the smoke death sticks are jealous that they can't smoke inside the bar, so the boss said we just wont like anyone smoke even e-cigs jerk! People are so uneducated about e-cigs and look at you crazy because they clueless. People ask me things like does it work, or does it have nic in it still and thats with my ego just think if I had my Omega! Sorry this is so long but always be proud to vape all they can say is stop.

Just be courteous. So far, I have asked bartenders/ shopkeepers if they mind if I use my digital cigarette before I start. The cool ones laugh and remind me that they're legal, but warn me that I'll get funny stares from the uninitiated. The rest just ask, " your what?". Which gives me an opportunity to educate them before they are misinformed by an idiot or a rude vaper (None of my fellow ECF'ers I hope). I didn't foresee how condescending analog smokers would be. Most have assumed it was some gimmick and I was a stupid shmuck. Suckers!

That was the most surprising thing to me. Took me forever to convince one of my friends to try the switch. He had tried a terrible mall e-cig a while back and he made up his mind it wasn't for him. Took me so long to convince him to try a real e-cig that worked. He hasn't had an analog in 3 weeks now.

I was just shocked how annoyed some smokers are about it. They think Im crazy for using it. I think they're crazy for still smoking analogs. Guess everybody is just crazy.... lol

it certainly is a conversation starter. i was at a family gathering the past weeked and now 3 of them want the same thing (which i will order for them).
what is starting to bother me a bit is the fact that i seem to be the one that has to do it all for them. not the unit itself but juices as well and as u all know, its hit n miss.
i do like that they are interested and gladly ge them off analogs but...its starting to take up lot of time to explain it all and then order stuff. the last 3 weeks ive turned many 8 people to vaping.
sometimes i vape someplace "because i can" even if i would not have lit up an analog there. i do find myself vaping in places i would not smoke, including my own house. i agree fully also with Cookiebun

I pointed my older sister to two vendors and gave her a link to ECF... now she's pretty much on her own other than that...lol

We live in a brainwashed society.
I am sorry but I just don’t understand the level of intimidation some folks have about using a PV and how they strongly relate it to smoking. Using a PV is not smoking it’s anti-smoking.

I apologize to the OP for doing this. I see that you are a new member at ECF and perhaps new to vaping but I just can’t help but use this sentence, “i dont think i'll feel comfortable using this inside buildings.. like right now im at a starbucks.” In a Starbucks? In a STARBUCKS? O-M-G. We are talking about a place that is saturated with caffeine vapor. The vapor from a PV is about as significant as a pimple on an elephant’s fanny in a Starbucks. Or anywhere else for that matter. I just find it very odd that billions of cups of coffee are served up every day with caffeine vapor poring out and not a peep from anybody. But someone using a PV is a public nuisance. The time has come folks, Ban Coffee!

Hey now!!! me without coffee would be much uglier tha me without a cig or pv. I don't even speak to people after I wake until I've had some coffee nor did I smoke (or do I vape) until I have my coffee in hand. Now if they could just make decaf taste like fully loaded...

Some of you have mentioned that you now vape inside your home. I haven't begun vaping yet seeing as I'm waiting for my first order but I too plan to begin vaping inside my house. My question is, how do you guys feel about vaping with animals/pets present? Obviously blowing the vape at them is probably a bad idea but considering the amount of nicotine that can be distributed through an ecig is greater than that of a cigarette, are you still wary about them while they're around?

My kitty (or rather one of them) is on my lap right now. Another one is on my desk. I'm careful to keep my juice where they can't get at it. Wash my hands before petting them if I get juice on them, and I blow my vapor away from them (just in case).

My college campus is completely tobacco free everywhere except the parking lots. A few weeks ago I was walking on the sidewalk going to class in a building that often has conferences and big meetings for the college. I was vaping openly as I was walking along. Some lady in a fancy getup stopped me and said, "you better put that out the president is coming right behind us". I simply shrugged at her and kept walking. Sure enough up ahead the president of the college walks out of the building. I just kept vaping away as she approached. She immediately stopped talking to the group of people she was with and stopped me. "Sir, you can't smoke here on campus." I showed her the PV real quick and explained the basics. She seemed really surprised but ultimately congratulated me on quitting smoking and let me go on my way vaping happily... Don't be afraid. You aren't doing anything wrong. You're actually doing what's right!

Good for you!! Educating the President of your school! Thanks for sharing.

My worry is that mall PV's, Blu, etc can do more harm than good because many who try them decide vaping is a "scam" due to how poorly they perform, keep smoking and then tell others that it's just another scam.

I crack myself up in restaurants. I bend my head down to the table, take a concealed puff and let them try to figure out where the "smoke" is coming from.

In the supermarket I pretend my PV is a pen as I read through my shopping list.

Appearing totally oblivious and innocent is the key to vaping in public. If they try to approach you with that police attitude, just give them your best shocked look and then walk off in a huff at their nerve.

I've got a parrot (blue front amazon), a dove, two dogs, and I vape in the house. The birds are way more sensitive to anything airborne than the dogs are, so I looked at a lot of stuff before I started doing it in the house - and I would never have smoked in the house. There have been no health problems, and his vet check always comes up clean. Most of what comes out is water vapor, with a little vaporized PG and VG. Neither are harmful.

Lately, I've been vaping on a homemade box mod. Before that, I vaped an eGo. Neither are likely to be mistaken for a cigarette. In bars here, I just do it. No one's ever said a word, except to express curiousity. Outside anywhere, I just do it. In restaurants, I ask first. So far, I've never been turned down. That's been in Hickory, Charlotte and Atlanta. If I get funny looks, I haven't noticed. People are polite here, I guess.

Work has been almost comical. First, let me say that I have the kind of position where it's highly unlikely that I would be fired out of hand for doing it. I might be, if I kept doing it after being told I couldn't but, I wouldn't do that. I just started doing it in my cube. No one said anything. I told a few people about it and they thought it was really cool. They even started to invite me to use it in meetings.

However, I never had enough nerve to ask HR. If they said no, I'd have to stop. However, one day a mentioned that fact without knowing there was an HR person in earshot. The next thing I know they are asking what I need to know about. So, I pull it out, explain what it is, and demonstrate that it produces no unpleasant odor. They said, that as long as I wasn't bothering anyone, they didn't see a problem with it. COOL!!!

So now, it's my cube, my rules. As a general rule, out in the open areas, I don't use it but, I've forgotten a time or two. In meetings, if I really feel the need, I might ask but, that's rare. If invited which happens, I'll use it as needed.

What's funny is the way people react. The non-smokers generally like it or maybe it's that they didn't like me smoking. Regardless, they have a positive reaction. The smokers are envious and curse me in a good natured way. Some have asked for info. The ex-smokers seem puzzled. It's goes like this:

Ex-smoker: I don't understand. You're still addicted. Do you plan to stop?
Me: I may, a lot of people do but, that's not the plan. The addiction is not what bothered me about smoking.
Ex-smoker: But, you haven't beaten anything.
Me: Actually I have beaten quite a bit but, not all of it. I just want to not smoke and not feel the need to knife someone.
Ex-smoker: I smoked a pack a day and quit cold turkey.
Me: That's quite an accomplishment and you should be proud. I chose to do this instead. Does it really bother you?
Ex-smoker: I guess not.

A little off topic, but I not only gave up cigars 32 days ago, but I'm caffeine free now as well! I'm on day 11 of a 21 day detox/purification program and it's working. No more headaches and I'm enjoying really good organic decaf coffee, really! If interested you can check out the purification program at standard process dot com. (end of hijack)

I vape where ever it would be reasonable to smoke without hiding it - it does indeed start conversations, and tons of people have asked me about e-cigs. I even carry a few extra drip tips so they can give it a try; everyone is impressed. I stealth vape wherever it would be looked down upon - movies, hallways, etc.

I vape inside if I know that people won't be offended. I am not one for confrontation, so I tend to not vape inside, unless I am at work (where people don't mind that I vape). I will stealth vape in places where smoking is not allowed, but once again, I am not one who likes confrontation, so I am careful about it.
Now, when I am leaving an establishment, I will have my pv out and will be hitting on it in a place where smoking would not be allowed, but I will release the vapor outside.
