Does anyone besides me miss the little wedge vent windows that used to be standard in automobiles? They were just too convenient for smokers. They left right before the ash tray disappeared. Shortly after that, the cigarette lighter socket was renamed the accessory power outlet.

It makes me think that car designers are required to be non-smokers (or non-vapers).

The vent windows were the best! Don't understand why they did away with those. Not only were they good for smoking, but they defogged the windows faster

I loved those vents too. The smoke used to suck right out and no danger of ash coming back in. It kept the rain out too.

I never understood why they stopped with the ashtrays. With all the forest fires and cigarette .... litter on the streets, you'd think they'd encourage keeping them in the cars. Do they really think not having an ashtray will discourage a cigarette smoker from smoking? Last summer when I smoked, I bought and installed a lighter kit for my car that turned the accessory power outlet in the dashboard into a lighter. In addition to the lighter itself, I had to change the casing and put a stronger fuse in with it.

For 3 months I have been chain vaping in my office without smoking and I haven't noticed a film on anything. I just cleaned half my LCD screen just to check and can't see a difference and nothing shows up on the cleaning cloth. I just had a dental cleaning last week and no unusual film or stains reported and my gums got complements for the very first time. Maybe it depends on the type of ejuice you use. I'll watch for it now.

As an experiment when I first started vaping I exhaled about 20 drags through a tissue, let it dry, and couldn't see anything on the tissues. Compared to a cigarette I found that pretty amazing. I just inhaled through a tissue and there is a clear oil type spot that hasn't dried like a water spot yet. Interesting. Maybe I'll let this inspire me to stop chain vaping for entertainment rather than nicotine delivery.

EDIT: came back after a few hours and both spots have dried and disappeared on the tissue. No trace of them, so apparently 80 PG/20 VG inhaled vapor just takes longer to dry tah water. Sorry if I misled anyone.

I too sometimes smell pungent e-juices on clothes, but I think that comes more from refilling spills. Certain tobaccos flavors in particular seem to hang around for short periods. Again not even in the ball park of what a cigarette would do, but it is faintly there.

:blink:Well, now I'm curious. If it leaves a film on the windows of your car, what exactly is in that film? Has anyone tried wiping it and it was yellow like the nicotine that comes off of our walls when we've been smoking in the house? I guess I'm asking because we've been vaping in our Pilot with the windows up, not thinking twice about it. The kids are all in the back seat freaking out over the cool smells, like cinnamon and english toffee. Now I feel like crap because I might be making them filmy.....

I do get filmy windows; in fact, I expected them when I started vaping in the car. I believe it is the vg that is in the juice. If you have ever used glycerin in cookie or cake decorating, it provides SHINE & stability. I believe it is that same shine on the windows. the glass & plastic in our cars are not porous & cannot dissapate the glycerin. However the leather & our lungs are porous and can dissapate the glycerin. The same goes for inside our homes. Windows, electronics and non-porous counters cannot, but wood, wool carpet and drywall can.

Part of the problem might be the towels your using. Most paper towels have an additive that makes them more absorbent but adds to the streaking. Use clean cotton towels that have not been washed or dried with softener.

I also use a plastic pot scrubber pad, think steel wool made of plastic, to loosen it. Spray plenty of cleaner, scrub with pad, wipe with cotton towel. If it's really bad it might take 3 or 4 cycles to get fully clean.

I like this and am going to try it today. I'll use a cotton tee shirt rag. Yeah, I can see how it might take 3-4 cycles from just cleaning my kitchen windows from all the condensation from my tea pot steaming, then household dust layering over it.

I vape a DIY 75/25 PG/VG (respectively) blend. I don't see any ill effects at all on my houseplants from the vapor, so I guess they're okay with it. But when I vape an all VG blend, it makes my lungs feel heavy (could be my imagination).

One thing I've noticed is that while the film will appear, it's a lot easier to clean than the smoke film was, thankfully.

That's cause all the nasty tar isn't sticking to everything, including you walls, drapes, and the smell tht cigarettes cause isn't on everything that you own. I think we are so lucky to have found something to replace all of this don't all of you?

WATER or special cleaner and a lot of the high price LCD cleaner are really distilled water. Many screens have a plastic layer on top that can haze with any real cleaners. Unless you know for sure it's glass and does not have an anti glare treatment applied play it safe with just warm water.

I wonder what's on my monitor, I keep blowing vape at it unintentionally, constantly. Haven't tried cleaning it since vaping. Any ideas on cleaning it? Wonder if the standard LCD screen cleaner will work.

Hope this post is close to topic!

I think you're right.

When I noticed the shine on the windows I was in a parking lot and the sun was shining. I have one of those yellow microfiber yellow towels that I got at SAMS in the glove box. I used it with nothing on it on the drivers side and it took the film right off. When I got home I used some cleaner on the other side and it kind of made a mess. I waited for it to dry and then took a microfiber towel again with nothing on it and it came right off. You can feel the difference when it's clean. It was quick and easy. I vape 100% VG most of the time. This has worked for me.

Cotton cloth baby diapers and windex are my vote. You can launder them (without soap!) to get them clean.

Wash the car, dry her with diapers. Clean the windows with baby diapers.

The only fabric that touches my girl is what's good enough for a baby's bottom. <3

Well, I'll be. . .didn't even know they made cloth diapers anymore. They are the best cleaning rags around. I'm a gettin alittle older, remember the first time I rinsed my little sister's diaper out in the toilet. Damned thing was jerked outta my little hand and went to never never land. Sorta scart hell outta me. Think I was six years old at the time. The vapin build up on auto windshield's comes mostly from VG, or at least is worse when that's vapped. Doubt it's doin anything negative to the lungs. JMHO

Cheers,
