You make a point with your examples. Some people are obnoxious. And they don't have to vape to be that. But I don't think the average vaper as broad a cross-section of our society that is involved is representative.

Are you saying the bottom are obnoxious? Maybe there ought to be a law.

:D Good luck.

Hahaha..

Im just saying we need to teach, not only by example, but also through our words when asked for guidance, how not to be obnoxious.

Pleasant conversation.. had fun thanks.:)

I think we teach by every moment and manner of our existence.

“I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.”
Robert A. Heinlein

I agree with what you said, but not with the quote per se.

I am free because i have a strong mind and strong spirit. They can put me in a prison, but i will forever be free because they can never chain nor contain the essence of what makes me who I am, I control who and what gets to that essence, no matter the circumstance.

Rules which make for a pleasant society for all, should be respected by all who wish to be inside that society.. and any one who doesn't like said society (their rules being a part of what makes them a society), then there should be nothing to stop them from checking out of it and finding a society, or existence, more to a person's liking.. THAT is freedom in body.

You can always seek to change the society's rules you don't like in order that living within said society to become more to your liking, but it should be a means of their willing change, and not forced.. that allows for others' freedom.

I don't believe in breaking just any rules i find intolerable to be acceptable, with the exception of extremely drastic circumstance.

It does do a tiny bit of harm. Try cleaning my office windows in winter. Every week, it's condensing and dripping down. This only happens when it's really cold outside though. (<20F) Also, sometimes walking into a vape shop that's foggy and smells like bananas, bubble gum and cream is kind of revolting. I vape, much less now than when I started, but when you mix all those flavors in the air, it gets stinky.

The Walmarts in my area no longer carry anything to do with tobacco smoking I think it may because they get a lower rate on insurance.
Not long ago I took my dog to the park and there is no longer smoking in the park, in fact there is a $100 fine for smoking there. Used to be a nice place to bring him now it's gone. Again I think it's a finical thing a nice way to make some money for the city.

What ever happened to respecting the wishes of a property owner, whether it is residential, or business? If I go to someone's house, and they do not want me to vape, I may not agree with it, but I will respect it. Just as I would expect someone to respect rules I may set for my property, whether they agree with it or not. When exactly did this self-entitled attitude of "I can do whatever I want" on someone else's property because "I don't agree with their rules" start?

Yeah, I don't allow smoking in my house. I have lots of friends that smoke. It's private property, respect it. In summer, when the swamp cooler is running, I'll put an empty beer can on window ledge, and select friends can have a smoke inside, because ZERO smoke stays inside. But they gotta sit next to the window of the leeward wind direction, usually uncomfortable too. Then gotta crush the can and throw it out window, then pick it up and take it with them when they leave.

Extreme? At least I let 'em smoke a couple.

I'm from the UK but I don't think that's cool at all.

Empathy is needed here. If I didn't smoke or vape there is no way I'd be ok with people blowing clouds of some mysterious vapour when I am food shopping.
Or any shopping for that matter. It's just a case of respect.

I can't stand it when people just invade my senses at any level. It's bad manners.

This isn't a case of a generational gap. I began vaping at 25 and I'll be 28 next month. I'm not a kid anymore but I'm not an old man either.

It all started with Burger King "your way right away". And "the customer is always right".

It's just obviously disrespectful, rude, obnoxious etc... I needn't carry on with these descriptions, it's clearly indicative
of a bad mannered fool.

This was a hypothetical arguement which you suggested and so no insult is intended OP. That is until the moment you blow clouds in a walmart ;)

It's generational because it took the mind set 10+ years to arrive to the conclusion that the Earth circles them, either by parenting, social media, peer pressure, etc.
I have watched things change, the way people act in society now is NOT how they acted in 1987.
If you give someone the idea, convince them that THIS is how it SHOULD be, then they carry that mentality for the rest of their lives.
Ask someone who is 90 years old if things/people have changed, they will tell you exactly. I am fortunate to know such people.
As far as being 25 or 28, that's not an issue, it's common courtesy and sense. I thought I was smart at 30, pff, with age comes experience and wisdom, hopefully.

^^ I hope so. It hasn't happened yet but I'm eagerly waiting to board that train.
Watch what you wish for, after 35 the years come like riding a bike downhill with no brakes![emoji3]

We don't get those over here :(
I think minimum wage dictates that people aren't overly concerned with whether your having a great day ;)

I think we may be hijacking this guy/gals thread though.

'Don't vape in Walmart'

Let's leave it there.

Nice chatting.
