So I've been vaping for about a month, i smoked analogs and I had a few buddies that vaped and it was always so good when I tried theirs so I went ahead and made the switch. I got a smoktech winder and an aerotank, I also picked up a few juices the place made themselves. I later found out my juices were not that good but I got some better juices and everything was gravy. I ran into some headaches here and there with finding what I really like, I once ordered the wrong coils, I orderd a full 60ml of some stuff I hate, I've wrestled with fixing a burnt taste and now when I think I've got it all figured out I've had vapors tongue for 5 days...I'm about to smoke an analog...

Just hold on. I’m right there with you. I’m new to this as well and had some of the same challenges as you but after reading these boards for hours a day I’ve finally gotten a grip on some of it. You just have to realize that it’s so much better than smoking analogs. And who said you can’t have an analog every once in a while? No one here would judge you for that.. we’ve all been there.

I hear you DBZ, we've all had those times where we feel it's just not worth it and almost reach for the pack of smokes. I'm sorry that you're having a bad few days and I'm rooting for you to vape your way through it.

Just remember you've not failed even if you do smoke a cigarette because every cig you haven't smoked over the last month is a small victory. And if you do smoke one, it'll just be so disgusting that you'll want to vape again anyways...

Vapers tongue is like the worst thing ever. Time to vape that juice you hate, you can't taste it anyway so you may as well :D

I found it frustrating as well. I finally have a functioning VP and appropriate juice. By appropriate, I mean a high enough nicotine level to keep frustration away. Then you aren't always sucking on a slightly less than satisfactory vapor. That lessons vapors tongue (or did for me). That, and lots of water. I think it might be dehydrating. I don't know, maybe one of the veterans can tell you.

congrats on starting your vaping journey. First, make sure you drink plenty of water.....this will help with the vapors tongue. Second for many people, my self included....there is a transition period. If you need a cigarette once in while, have one. One day you are going to smoke one of those occasional cigarettes and it will taste disgusting.

Couple of suggestions for the vapors tongue. Most important one is to stay hydrated. The PG in juices is a desiccant, so it causes dehydration, this will affect your ability to taste things. Also if you eat a lot of sweet things, candy, soda, juices, or high fructose corn syrups in anything it will affect your ability to taste things. A cure for this is to ease off the sugar and drink your water with lime or lemon in it. Also, switch your flavors once and a while, you will get used to the same flavor over and over. What kind of Juice are you vaping, and what flavors do you like?

Everything else is okay, I can deal with the frustration of a problem I can fix but literally not being about to taste my vapor and it being completely out of my hands. I just can't take that. If I knew today that my "vapors tongue" wouldn't go away, I'd switch back to cigarettes. I'm vaping Hype by AVE right now. A cantaloupe and peach with a hint of banana, can't taste a thing.

this happens to everyone in the first month or so. It gets better after a while. One thing you can do is switching between two different types of flavor. If you are vaping a citrus fruity juice try switching to a sweet juice like vanilla or coffee.

Is vapors tongue a permanent thing or is it a phase that happens during transition from analogs to vaping?

Apparently it's something that happens occasionally from noobs to veterans. I thought it was a bunch of bull until 5 days ago. its no joke. Imagine not being able to taste.

Just a thing that happens sometimes to some vapers.

Even some people that have been vaping a while get it every now and then. Drinking loads of water with lemon, eating spicy food, giving your tongue a good brush and eating strong mints can all help. It's a pain, but like I said, any episode of vapers tongue is a good excuse to vape juices you don't like...

Hang in there buddy! It can be tough in the beginning but it will get better. Along with drinking plenty of water sometimes vaping a really really strong flavor can help as well as changing flavors constantly but sometimes it's just something we have to go through. Remember that all of our years of smoking pretty much killed our taste buds by frying them to death. It takes time for them to recover to what they once were. If you must go ahead & smoke that cig but don't give up on vaping. This phase will pass!

I am constantly rotating between juices to avoid the vapor tongue. Hang in there and keep pushing through. Keep tasting different juices and keep hydrating. I am a little past three months without an analog and am doing it day by day. Some days I don't think about it, some days I want to smoke. I have to remember why I wanted to quit and why I invested so much time and money into this. You got this!

A couple of things I noticed no one asked. How high is your voltage on your battery? Lowering your voltage may fix the burnt taste. What level of nicotine are you vaping. If it's too strong that can cause headaches and nausea. And I agree with the majority on this thread. If you can vape and avoid even one tobacco cig, that's a move in the right direction. It took me three days of weening off of tobacco cigs when I started vaping. After I quit tobacco cigs I got the shakes because there are so many more addictive chemicals in tobacco cigs than nicotine. Bur a few days later the shakiness stopped and I never looked back.
