It can, depending on your bodies tolerance & nic in your system, nic mg/ml you vape, timing etc...

Nicotine is a stimulant similar to caffeine, some folks can drink 4 expressos & go to sleep no problems, some get all jacked up.
coffee monsters bangs all put me to sleep

I was a very heavy smoker. When I started gaping with 24mg in an old style cartomizer, I slept fine. However, after a couple of months that was too much nic and it did cause sleeplessness so I began to cut back.

I also read at the time that when your liver stops processing all of the chemicals is cigarette smoke it begins to do a better job with things like caffeine and sugar. (I am not a doctor) So I cut back on coffee and sugary drinks.

no no stress at all

Well, with no change in vaping habits or nicotine use, and no change in obvious stress inducing issues (New job, divorce etc) then I believe you should see a doctor.

Let a doctor make sure there aren't any underlying health issues causing it, and help get your natural rhythms back on track.

I think it probably depends on the individual.

I see from the replies that there are folk on here who share my experience - I smoked for most of my life and if I woke up during the night I had a smoke and then got back to sleep fine.

Before I discovered Vaping, I had failed on two Smoking Cessation Courses - I got off to sleep fine when on them but would be awake at three or four in the morning and would find it impossible get back to sleep.

The problem went away the minute I went back to smoking and I have never had that problem with vaping either. Again like others if I wake up during the night briefly I have a Vape to top up my nic level and drop back to sleep just fine.

As I said I really think this depends on the individual's own system.

definitely notice that, if i'm not careful, vaping keeps me up longer than I should be up.

But at least, I can stop myself an hour or so prior to going to sleep, and if I still can't sleep, i'll take ONE or two hits from my vape to satisfy that throat-hit craving, and then it's off to dream land. With cigarettes, I'd light one up and finish it... try to sleep... light one up and finish it... try to sleep. idk.

I was a sleepwalker and in college I used to sleep smoke. Just sit bolt upright and do it.

After 2 years unless something has drastically changed, well, I'm agreement with the doctor appointment it could be (and honestly probably is) a totally separate issue. Unless you body has started processing nic differently somehow.

Good luck insomnia is the worst

Forgive me, as I am a non-nic vaper.

I'm wondering why it would be useful to have someone go from nic to non-nic. .? Seems like a bit of fuss to have two devices set up. Why not just stop vaping prior to bed? Is it a physical habit type of thing?

I have 3-5 devices set up at all times, often more. I diy so I have dozens of juices, different nic levels and flavors. As a nic vaper, I’d have a panic attack if I only had one device loaded. Back ups for my back ups is my motto. It keeps me off the smokes!
