Hello All!

I am a 30 yr old who has been smoking analogs for 16 years. I recently have dabbled into the vaping scene when my Wife purchased me a e-cig kit from our corner store. The brand is "Green Smart Living"
I do like it and has helped me cut back from my analogs. I wont post a link or pics, you can google the brand if need be.

The advice I would like is:

What setup will produce a good amount of vapor, be similar in size to an analog, be relatively easy to refill myself, and be at a fair price, I don't wanna spend hundreds on a kit. Battery life is not necessarily an issue, but please feel free to prod me in the proper direction.

As I said the e-cig my Wife picked up does do the trick most of the time, but I want to be able to use a higher nicotine mg/ml to completely curb my analog habit.

Also as I am a newbie I believe my e-cig is an 801 styled battery with 808 cartomizers; please correct me if I'm wrong! I have looked at youtube videos of refilling carto's and have taken apart a used one of mine from the previously mentioned brand. It seems these may be refillable. what are some of your thoughts!

Sorry this post seems to contain two separate questions, but I did not want to start flooding the newbie forums with multiple posts and/or questions.

Looking forward to your suggestions!

Anything that look like an analog is going to need either a lot of batteries or a Personal Charging Case or both if you plan to use it all day even when your out . One of the longer lasting batteries is the ego-T 1000mah batteries but does not look like an analog and is longer . The normal 650mah batteries are a bit smaller and they might do as long as you carry at least one spare when you'are out . A ecig that looks like an analog is fine to use it is just the short batery life that you have to be concered with . A few batteries in your pocket and a bottle of juice or a pack of cartomizers and you will be all set .

Welcome aboard. The Green Smart Living is a decent place to start as an introduction to vaping. I used them myself a couple of times when I first started kicking the analog habit. They carry them in a lot of the gas stations around the phoenix area so they really helped avoid going back to "the old way" when I was getting used to carrying an extra battery and juice. There is definitely a bit of a learning curve to vaping. Most of the things you need are available online only for most people. This means you have to plan your needs in advance and always make sure to have extra on hand. Nothing is worse than being half way through the day only to discover you didn't pack enough juice.
My recommendation is that you look into an eGo type set up. You will find plenty available online. Don't get intimidated when deciding on a model. The great thing about these devices is that the parts are interchangeable between most brands and styles. You aren't locked into whatever model you initially decide on. If what you start off with isn't working for you as you like it is cheap and easy to try another method. eGo's use 510 connections. They are able to take a standard 510 atomizer/cartomizer or eGo specific models. You can opt for an eGo mega atty if you want to try dripping (my preferred) or a tank for convenience. If you aren't getting enough "kick" out of your atomizer try a Low Resistance (LR) atty. The eGo's are probably the most popular choice for those starting off. They give you the ability to try new things and at 900 or 1000mAh you can vape all day without worrying about running out of battery power. You can generally pick up a kit for around $60-$75 online.
Hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks so far for the recommendations, and I appreciate the warm welcome, One question Steak, when you used the "Green Smart Living" brand, did you refill any of the carto's yourself? this method seems plausible and would help me get by from just purchasing some e-juice until I decide on a long term kit/solution. I simply can't wait to be free from these @#$ %^&* analogs!

I looked into it a little and it seems that this might already be a basic 510 style kit! Although the model number has an 801 in it, I found a post from a very experienced ECF member with pictures that should help you verify this.

If your kit looks like this, then you've actually started with a basic 510 kit and 510 is the most common threading available! Many different vendors sell cartomizers, batteries and all kinds of components that work with 510's. If you stick with them for a while and want to get something a little bigger with more battery life, your cartomizers will fit on an eGo or dozens of other models!

This is a great start and will probably be a backup for the long term too! Keep on vapin' and asking questions! I got a lot of help on ECF and if you search on any topic here there's somebody who's got answers. Good luck!

About refilling - if you can open the top and see filler, you can put liquid in. If you search here or on youtube for "refill cartomizer" you can see how others do it. If you overfill it and get some juice in the center tube, just blow it out until it hits well without gurgling. If they taste bad, search on "cleaning cartomizer" in the same places and you'll be on your way! Most of us keep filling/cleaning and using them until they get a really burnt taste or are too hard to draw. If it feels like you're sucking a potato through a straw, you probably should get a new one going!
