Ran into some people with really nice mods the other day. So I decided to say hi. We were having a wonderful conversation about our wraps and mods and flavors when all of the sudden the woman exclaimed "you smells like smoke. That's disgusting!" I replied by apologizing for the smell and confessed I still occasionally have a cigarette. She and her husband turned their noses up at me and refused to carry on the conversation. Awkward to say the least but I feel it was pretty mean of them to be so snobby about it when it was obvious they use to smoke too.

Anyone else run into people like this?

There seems to be a snobbery hierarchy.

1. Cloud Chasers
2. APV users
3. Ego/Evod users
4. Cig_a_like users
5. Dual use vapers
6. tobacco users

I recently went around to a couple dozen vaping shops in my area to educate about CASAA and the deeming regulations.
Most shops around here are run by people who belong to a certain community that likes to chase clouds.

And then there is me, who has been dripping with a simple 510 atomizer for over five years now.
And my battery is a simple Ego Twist or Vision Spinner.

Some of these people cared a lot more about trying to sell me "better" equipment than they cared about legislative issues.
I didn't let it bother me, although it did kind of bother me.

Hey, at least I have a really cool drip tip.
;)

Being a former smoker myself, I refuse to take part in this conversation.

As a new vaper, I have progressed so to speak, from a six to a two. Still. I can not look down on anybody for the choice of vape stuff they use. Do not see the snobish attitudes here at ECF either.

Funny story its sad but true and it puts my in mind of my local vape shop which no longer has my buisiness.
When I was interested in starting hey they were all gung hoe on all the info they could give and make that sale. Well I bought some things and came home smoked my last analog and started vaping. The items I was sold were clearly not what I needed to get a satisfactory vape so I started researching and figured it out on my own and ordered what I needed online. I went back in a couple weeks later to get some coils when I told them what they were for suddenly I was a stranger lol. Guess they grudged me for not buying from them. Never will again either after I have seen what things are really sold for and not the 100 to 300% mark up they put on stuff.

I understand that a buisiness needs to make profit but when I saw I can buy 5 t3s tanks for less than they sold me 1 for I was a bit annoyed.

Some people do smoke an analog here and there when they are vaping I personally have no problem with it.

This isn't about ex smokers or smokers its about anyone that think they are above people who still smoke, duel fuel, don't use what they think is a good enough device or whatever other reason they have to think they are somehow superior, i'm a ex smoker too :)

Edited my post to include the OP, which was about smokers/ex-smokers.

The tax farm known as USA.
they were probably trying to, whats the correct word? peer pressure? guilt trip? manipulate? you into not smoking in their own sort of psychopathic way. probably their parents speaking more than them. poor souls i can imagine what that childhood must have been like. the fact that you're on ecf posting about it means they got to you, anyway, yeah just move on i doubt you will meet these people again.

Good list. I think we all have a little snobery inside ourselves, most of us just keep it locked away.
Ive gone from 6 to 1 and settled back to #2 on this list. I even enjoy an occasional ego batt and 505 dripper from time to time.

Im not snobish towards smokers, ex smokers or part time smoker/vapors. But I am a bit of an equiptment snob (toppers and APV)..... and with the exception you fine folks here on ECF (my friends) , I keep it to myself around vapors in the real world.

So....Im telling on myself. Whats new... :toast:

Got 2 of the 1st, and 40-something of the 2nd. And man, are they intolerant!

J/K. I haven't actually talked to any of them in years, so I have no idea how tolerant or intolerant they'd be towards me now. All except one were really nice people and actually liked me, so I think only the one would be particularly intolerant of me if we ran across each other again. Right up until she murders me, that is. Then her intolerance of me would probably evaporate like juice droplets off a dry-burning coil.
